Temporal and spatial distribution of water components in watersheds, estimation of water quality, and uncertaintiesassociated with these estimations are important issues in freshwater studies. In this study, Soil and Water AssessmentTool (SWAT) model was used to estimate components of freshwater availability: blue water (surface runoff plus deepaquifer recharge), green water flow (actual evapot...

in iran, most mountainous watersheds do not have enough hydrometery stations and defective stations have sparse data. because of limited availability of hydrologic data, watershed modeling plays a crucial role in development of local resources. in this study, swat was applied to simulate runoff in marun dam (idanak) watershed, a sub-basin of marun catchment. calibration and sensivity analyses w...

Soil erosion is an important economical, social and environmental problem requiring intensive watershed management for its control. In recent years, modeling has become a useful approach for assessing the impact of various erosion-reduction approaches. ِDue to limited hydrologic data in mountainous watersheds, watershed modeling is, however, subject to large uncertainties. In this study, SWAT200...

We design and implement a field experiment to elicit and calibrate in-sample hypothetical and actual bids given the presence of other goods and intensity of market experience. Using market goods that possess characteristics beyond the norm but yet remain deliverable, bidding behavior was consistent with theory. But we also observe the average calibration factor for hypothetical bids in the auct...

In fluorogenic thrombin generation (TG) experiments, thrombin concentrations cannot be easily calculated from the rate of the fluorescent signal increase, because the calibration coefficient increases during the experiment, due to substrate consumption and quenching of the fluorescent signal by the product. Continuous, external calibration via an in a parallel sample therefore was hitherto requ...

Safety performance functions (SPFs), by predicting the number of crashes on roadway facilities, have been a vital tool in the highway safety area. The SPFs are typically applied for identifying hot spots in network screening and evaluating the effectiveness of road safety countermeasures. The Highway Safety Manual (HSM) provides a series of SPFs for several crash types by various roadway facili...

Working standards for dissipation factor (D) obtained by connecting a shielded three-tenninal capacitor in series with a shielded precision resistor have been developed for calibration purposes. Precision conductance boxes have been built for use with a single three-tenninallOOO pF gas capacitor standard to create dissipation factor standards having values from 2 x 10-5 to 1 X 10-2. The design ...

The calibration of a liquid I-125 source in an older standard dose calibration system is presented. The calibration factor agrees well with factors established by the NIST for newer dose calibration systems. The determination of the source activity is necessary to accurately calculate the time required to deliver the prescribed dose.
