paddy straw is one of the most abundant agricultural by-products in tamil nadu, india. itcontains high amounts of cellulose and lignin. the fungal strains were isolated from naturally decomposingsites of paddy straw. eight fungal strains were isolated and later these eight fungi were used for finding outtheir potential for the degradation of lignin and cellulose content of paddy straw. among ei...
Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus oryzae belong to Aspergillus section Flavi. They are closely related and are of significant economic importance. The former species has the ability to produce harmful aflatoxins while the latter is widely used in food fermentation and industrial enzyme production. This review summarizes the current understanding of the similarity of the A. flavus and A. oryzae...
Aspergillus oryzae has been used in the food and beverage industry for centuries, and industrial strains have been produced by multiple rounds of selection. Targeted gene deletion technology is particularly useful for strain improvement in such strains, particularly when they do not have a well-characterized meiotic cycle. Phenotypes of an Aspergillus nidulans strain null for the CreB deubiquit...
Aspergillus oryzae, Penicillium citrinum and Rhizopus stolonifer isolated from Taif soil, Saudi Arabia could survive in a liquid medium containing up to 500 !lglml Zn. Aspergillus oryzae and Penicillium citrinum were more tolerant to zinc toxicity than Rhizopus stolonifer. The resistance and accumulation of zinc in the tested fungi were discussed according to tolerance index and zinc uptake in ...
Aspergillus oryzae is the most important fungus for the traditional fermentation in China and is particularly important in soy sauce fermentation. We report the 36,547,279-bp draft genome sequence of A. oryzae 3.042 and compared it to the published genome sequence of A. oryzae RIB40.
Aspergillus oryzae is a common fungus for traditional fermentation in Asia, such as spirit, soybean paste, and soy sauce fermentation. We report the 36.7-Mbp draft genome sequence of A. oryzae 100-8 and compared it to the published genome sequence of A. oryzae 3.042.
Aspergillus oryzae has been utilized for over 1000 years in Japan for the production of various traditional foods, and a large number of A. oryzae strains have been isolated and/or selected for the effective fermentation of food ingredients. Characteristics of genetic alterations among the strains used are of particular interest in studies of A. oryzae. Here, we have sequenced the whole genome ...
A manganese peroxidase gene (mnp1) from Phanerochaete chrysosporium was efficiently expressed in Aspergillus oryzae. Expression was achieved by fusing the mature cDNA of mnp1 with the A. oryzae Taka amylase promoter and secretion signal. The 3' untranslated region of the glucoamylase gene of Aspergillus awamori provided the terminator. The recombinant protein (rMnP) was secreted in an active fo...
In the present study, mould mycelium of Aspergillus oryzae was used for biochemical conversion of L-tyrosine to L-DOPA because tyrosinase is an intracellular enzyme. The mutant Aspergillus oryzae IIB-6 was found to yield 3.72 fold higher production of L-DOPA than the parental strain. The comparison of kinetic parameters was also done which showed the greater ability of mutant to yield L-DOPA. W...
