In this paper, we investigated the statistical analysis of thermal conductivity of nanofluids containing of decorated Ag nanorods with Cu nanoparticles. For this purpose Ag-Cu hybrid is synthesized and characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD). TEM image shows that Cu nanoparticles successfully decorate on the outer surface of Ag nanorods. Th...

Hybrid nanostructures of metal (Cu, Au, Ag)-ZnO nanopyramids were synthesized. These hybrid nanostructures possess two distinct morphologies where the metal can be selectively attached to either the base or the tip of the ZnO pyramids. This is the first time that such morphologies are reported for Cu-ZnO and Ag-ZnO hybrid nanostructures.

The electronic structure at the interfaces of 3,4,9,10-perylene tetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) and the metal surfaces Au(111), Ag(111) and Cu(111) was investigated using ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). By combining these results with recent X-ray standing wave data from PTCDA on the same substrates clear correlation between the electronic properties and the interface geometry...

A novel N,N'-diphosphanyl-imidazol-2-ylidene acts as a stable, hybrid PC(NHC)P ligand for M2 or linear M3 (M = Cu, Ag, Au) arrays with metallophilic interactions.

Ag-Cu solid solutions prepared via ball milling process were subsequently milled for 30 h and investigated by X-ray diffraction technique for Cu-20%Ag, Cu-3.64%Ag and Cu-80%Ag. It was noted that the solid solubility level increased by increasing initial solute content in composition. Results showed peak positions of silver and copper changed with milling time. By heating up to 700 K, ...

Cu-Ag particles with homogeneous cover-silver layer were synthesized by electroless plating of copper particles with silver sulfate using eco-friendly sodium citrate (SC) as reducing agent, dispersant and chelating agent in an aqueous system. The influences of sodium citrate/Cu and sodium citrate/Ag ratios on Ag coatings of Cu powders were investigated. Ag formed a dense coating on the surface ...

The prevalent hardening phase forming in an Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloy after peak-aging at 150 and 190 °C has been investigated using transmission electron microscopy methods. precipitate atomic structure was determined. It is a hybrid (HP) with plate morphology on {111}Al planes, consisting of orthorhombic hexagonal structural fragments. Density functional theory calculations suggest that the hybridiza...

The effects of several copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) nanomaterials were assessed using the cellular energy allocation (CEA), a methodology used to evaluate the energetic status and which relates with organisms' overall condition and response to toxic stress. Enchytraeus crypticus (Oligochatea), was exposed to the reproduction effect concentrations EC20/50 of several Cu and Ag materials (CuNO3, Cu...

BACKGROUND In a biological system, an engineered nanomaterial (ENM) surface is altered by adsorbed proteins that modify ENM fate and toxicity. Thus far, protein corona characterizations have focused on protein adsorption, interaction strength, and downstream impacts on cell interactions. Given previous reports of Ag ENM disruption of Cu trafficking, this study focuses on Ag ENM interactions wit...
