We address a single-machine scheduling problem where the objective is to minimize the weighted mean absolute deviation of job completion times from their weighted mean. This problem and its precursors aim to achieve the maximum admissible level of service equity. It has been shown earlier that the unweighted version of this problem is NP-hard in the ordinary sense. For that version, a pseudo-po...

The weighted geometric mean method (WGMM) is the most common group preference aggregation method in the Analytic Hierarchy Process. This paper reports on research concerning the consistency of WGMM and proves that the weighted geometric mean complex judgement matrix (WGMCJM) is of acceptable consistency. In Saaty's (T.L. Saaty, The Analytic Hierarchy Process, McGraw-Hill, New York, 1980) opinio...

We prove the necessary and sufficient conditions for an infinity matrix to be a mapping, from absolutely convergent series to convergent sequences, which is treated as general weighted mean summability methods. The results include a classical result by Hardy and another by Moricz and Rhoades as particular cases.

Trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TrIFNs) express abundant and flexible information in a suitable manner and  are very useful to depict the decision information in the procedure of decision making. In this paper, some new aggregation operators, such as, trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy weighted power harmonic mean (TrIFWPHM) operator, trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted po...

It has recently been shown that the performance of multivariate exponentially weighted mean square (MEWMS) and multivariate exponentially weighted moving variance (MEWMV) charts of Huwang et al. (2007) in monitoring the variability of a multivariate process for individual observations is better than existing schemes. Both of these control charts monitor a distinct matrix which is an estimator o...

The quantitative contributions of a mixed phase space to the mean characterizing the distribution of diagonal transition matrix elements and to the variance characterizing the distributions of nondiagonal transition matrix elements are studied. It is shown that the mean can be expressed as the sum of suitably weighted classical averages along an ergodic trajectory and along the stable periodic ...
