FIASCO is a location-based mixed-reality game that is played both on a website and on the streets. Developed using methods inspired by Situationist urban theory, FIASCO was designed to promote new uses for public space. As pervasive games moves into the public sphere, the authors propose a review of their effects on social life and urban spaces.
