Objects and object complexes in 3D, as well those 2D, have many possible representations. Among them skeletal representations special advantages some limitations. For the form of representation called “s-reps,” these include strong suitability for representing slabular populations statistical applications on populations. Accomplishing is best if one recognizes that s-reps live a curved shape sp...

Skeletons model partial information about regular (honest) behavior in an execution of a cryptographic protocol. A homomorphism between skeletons is an information-preserving map. Much protocol analysis may be regarded as an exploration of the properties of the category of skeletons and homomorphisms. In particular, the strand space authentication tests are special homomorphisms. These ideas su...

We propose a new generic sequential thinning scheme based on the critical kernels framework. From this scheme, we derive sequential algorithms for obtaining ultimate skeletons and curve skeletons. We prove some properties of these algorithms, and we provide the results of a quantitative evaluation that compares our algorithm for curve skeletons with both sequential and parallel ones.

The hexogen, RDX and cyclotetramethylene-tetranitramine (HMX) are of the strongest explosives known to be classified as secondary explosives. These compounds, and some similar compounds, have N-N and N-O covalent bonds, which appear to be an important factor in their explosive and energetic properties. In this paper, the optimal structures and energies of the RDX and HMX and also the energy and...

Pose detection is one of the fundamental steps for the recognition of human actions. In this paper we propose a novel trainable detector for recognizing human poses based on the analysis of the skeleton. The main idea is that a skeleton pose can be described by the spatial arrangements of its joints. Starting from this consideration, we propose a trainable pose detector, that can be configured ...

BACKGROUND Many coral reef organisms are photosynthetic or have evolved in tight symbiosis with photosynthetic symbionts. As such, the tissues of reef organisms are often exposed to intense solar radiation in clear tropical waters and have adapted to trap and harness photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). High levels of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) associated with sunlight, however, represen...
