Traumatic dislocation of the hip or knee can occur after high-energy trauma and is often associated with concomitant injuries and secondary complications. Concomitant traumatic dislocation of both hip and knee is rare. We describe a case of combined ipsilateral posterior hip dislocation with a posterior acetabular fracture and a complete open knee dislocation with disruption of the popliteal ar...

Post-traumatic arthritis is a frequent consequence of articular fracture. The mechanisms leading to its development after such injuries have not been clearly delineated. A potential contributing factor is decreased viability of the articular chondrocytes. The object of this study was to characterise the regional variation in the viability of chondrocytes following joint trauma. A total of 29 os...

A longitudinal complicated crown-root fracture of an unerupted permanent incisor following trauma to primary teeth is reported. The development of the affected permanent tooth was not disturbed during a follow-up period of six years. Traumatic injuries to primary teeth can be transmitted to the permanent dentition because of the close relationship between the apices of primary teeth and the dev...

Degenerative cervical spondylolisthesis (DCS) had previously been thought to be a rare condition when compared to degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis. However, with consequences from untreated spondylolisthesis including pain, myelopathy, and radiculopathy, it has now become recognized as an under-studied condition which may be more prevalent than previously thought. Spondylolisthesis of the ...

Traumatic retrolisthesis of the lumbar spine is a rare clinical entity. Only a few case reports have shown retrolisthesis of the fractured fragment over the inferior vertebral body. Fracture dislocations of the spine are unstable injuries that require operative fixation to restore alignment and prevent progressive deformity. We present the case of a traumatic L5-S1 fracture dislocation with ret...

INTRODUCTION Isolated traumatic fractures of both Patellae, occurring at the same time, in an otherwise healthy person, are very rare. The Patella, as a subcutaneous and a cancellous bone, is vulnerable to injury. However, simultaneous injury to both Patellae without the involvement of any other bony injuries occurs infrequently, and only a few cases have been reported in the literature. CASE...

We present a case of a 37-year-old male patient diagnosed as traumatic L4-5 bilateral facets dislocation without facet fracture. We carried out open reduction, epidural hematoma removal, posterior interbody fusion. After surgery, we attained rapid improvement of the neurologic deficits and competent stabilization.

Pneumomediastinum (PM) is mainly an atypical finding among traumatic neck or thoracic injury patients. Moreover, PM secondary to isolated orbital floor fracture remains a rare event which is infrequently associated with severe complications such as mediastinitis, airway obstruction and pneumothorax. Herein, we report an atypical case of mediastinal emphysema consequent to orbital floor fracture...
