Infections with rapidly growing mycobacteria are rare and most often seen in immunocompromised patients. We herein present the case of a 69-year-old man with a T-cell lymphoma treated by chemotherapy and mogamulizumab with a 6-month history of febrile episodes and subcutaneous nodules in both arms and arthritis of metacarpophalangeal joints. Blood cultures and DNA sequencing results demonstrate...
Six human hematopoetic cell lines were successfully heterotransplanted into athymic (nude) and asplenic-athymic (Iasat) neonatal mice. The tumors arising from leukemia and lymphoma cells could then be serially transplanted into adult nude mice. Seven days after the fourth serial mouse passage, each mouse was treated with goat immune gamma globulin against K-562 cells. One control group was trea...
Traditional administration of standard lymphoma treatment can lead to poor pharmacokinetics and biological distribution. Recently, the nanomaterial system shows tremendous potential for therapy with a high drug-loading efficiency, good biosafety, improved bioavailability, active targeting. This study aimed report novel intelligent therapeutics particular targeted B-cell killing in aggressive ba...
Sir, Subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTCL) is an uncommon type of peripheral T-cell lymphoma. The classical clinical presentation is erythematous, subcuta-neous plaques or nodules involving the extremities and the trunk. Two distinctive entities are described: SPTCL with α/β or γ/δ phenotype. We report here an atypical clinical presentation of SPTCL, illustrating the difficulti...
Background Subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTCL) is a rare variant of peripheral T-cell lymphoma of the skin. In practice, it is most likely to present to a dermatologist. However, apart from individual case reports, detailed studies of SPTCL are limited in dermatology literature from Taiwan. Objectives To describe the clinical, pathological and immunophenotypic features of 10 ...
We retrospectively compared the incidence of neutropenia in two groups of HIV patients with lymphoma, who underwent chemotherapy supported by once-per-cycle administration of pegfilgrastim or by daily subcutaneous injection of filgrastim, respectively. Our findings indicate that pegfilgrastim and filgastrim produce similar results in preventing both neutropenia and febrile neutropenia.
Burkitt lymphoma (BL), an aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma, usually presents with large extranodal masses involving jaw bones, intestines and central nervous system. There are 3 main types of BL: endemic, sporadic, and immunodeficiency variant. Although each variant frequently involves extranodal site, cutaneous involvement is distinctly rare. Most of the previously reported cases with cutaneous...
Primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare non-Hodgkin's lymphoma confined to the CNS. Local relapse of this disease is common, but extracranial or subcutaneous metastasis is rare with only a few cases being reported in literature. We report a 63-year-old male patient, who responded well to treatment for PCNSL but relapsed two and half years later with a lumbosacral nodule at the site of a previous...
