AIM To evaluate the technical feasibility and safety of covered airway stent placement for malignant tracheobronchial strictures in patients with an endotracheal tube. MATERIALS AND METHODS Data regarding retrievable, expandable, metal stent placement under fluoroscopic guidance in 20 patients with an endotracheal tube inserted for malignant tracheobronchial strictures were retrospectively an...

The Neuroform EZ Stent System is a fourth generation intracranial aneurysm stent that utilizes an integrated navigation guidewire. While designed to facilitate stent delivery, the guidewire can rarely impede proper positioning of the stent. In this technical case report, severing the guidewire from the stent delivery system with surgical scissors was required for successful stent implantation.

PURPOSE Determining the ideal length of a ureteric stent is important to avoid complications associated with stent placement. Clinically, most urologists usually choose the length of a ureteric stent according to the patient's height. On the basis of a Chinese population study, a 22 cm ureteric stent has been recommended for patients smaller than 175 cm. We evaluated the appropriateness of this...

Balloon angioplasty of ostial left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) lesions has been associated with a high rate of acute complications and late restenosis. Recently, coronary stenting has been proposed as an effective treatment modality for ostial LAD lesions. To evaluate the effects of stent design on the development of late restenosis, we retrospectively analyzed the efficacy of slo...

BACKGROUND Endoscopic stenting is a widely used method for managing esophageal anastomotic leaks and perforations. Self-expanding metal stents (SEMSs) have proved effective in sealing these defects, with a lower rate of displacement than that of self-expanding plastic stents (SEPSs) as a result of tissue proliferation and granulation tissue ingrowth at the uncovered portion of the stent, which ...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE SACE is performed for complex aneurysms. There are several configurations of stent placement for bifurcation aneurysms. We investigated hemodynamics among 8 different configurations of stent placement, which may relate to the recanalization rate. MATERIALS AND METHODS We created a silicone block model of a patient-specific asymmetric bifurcation aneurysm. Enterprise clo...

INTRODUCTION Inadequate stent implantation is associated with stent thrombosis and restenosis. StentBoost can enhance stent visualization and evaluate stent expansion. Currently, there are limited comparison studies between StentBoost and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). We aimed to test the correlation and agreement between IVUS and StentBoost measurements. METHODS From December 2010 to Dece...

Stent fracture is an uncommon complication of drug-eluting stent implantation, but it has a clinical significance because of its potential association with adverse cardiac events such as in-stent restenosis, target lesion revascularization, and stent thrombosis. Multiple stent fractures account for a small proportion, but they may lead to more serious complications. Newer generation drug-elutin...

Carotid artery stenting (CAS) is one of the treatments for carotid stenosis; however, it associated with risk postoperative embolism due to in-stent plaque protrusion. CASPER Rx (Terumo, Co.) stent expected prevent protrusion because double-layered structure. Double-layer segment required be deployed over during placement; real-time understanding position difficult. Percutaneous ultrasound exam...

ncomplete stent apposition (ISA), also known as stent alapposition, is defined most simplistically as the absence f contact between stent struts and the vessel wall not verlying a side branch. Incomplete stent apposition can ccur at the time of stent implantation—acute ISA—which ight either resolve or persist at follow-up (late-persistent SA). Patients without ISA at the time of stent implantai...
