The inherent stability of two-dimensional motion when hovering using beating wings that have a passive feathering is compared with rotary flapping motion. the determined by bending elasticity, which expressed spring at wing root. torsional damper and values were minimizing necessary power in present analysis. Unlike motion, do not pitch/roll damping. A flying robot requires quicker flight contr...

In this paper, I apply the migration deconvolution to synthetic seismic images that have been distorted by cable feathering, migration velocity errors and recording geometry variations. The results show that migration deconvolution is able to suppress the velocity and geometry errors and can noticeably improve the quality of the migration image for both 2-D poststack and 3-D prestack migration....

The swing-phase motion of the shank of an above-knee prosthesis has been modelled mathematically. An inexpensive endoskeletal prosthesis was designed using the Jaipur foot and conduit pipes with a hinge joint for the knee. Results of field trials and the modelling indicate that a very simple above-knee prosthesis can give near normal gait at "normal" walking speeds on flat surfaces. The swing o...

Lower-limb wearable resistance (WR) provides a specific and targeted overload to the musculature involved in sprint running, however, it is unknown if greater impact forces occur with additional limb mass. This study compared contact times ground reaction force waveforms between running no load 2% body mass (BM) shank-positioned WR over 30 m. Fifteen male university-level specialists completed ...

In this review, we focus on the role of the Shank family of proteins in autism. In recent years, autism research has been flourishing. With genetic, molecular, imaging and electrophysiological studies being supported by behavioural studies using animal models, there is real hope that we may soon understand the fundamental pathology of autism. There is also genuine potential to develop a molecul...

Protein localization in the postsynaptic density (PSD) of neurons is mediated by scaffolding proteins such as PSD-95 and Shank, which ensure proper function of receptors at the membrane. The Shank family of scaffolding proteins contain PDZ (PSD-95, Dlg, and ZO-1) domains and have been implicated in the localizations of many receptor proteins including glutamate receptors in mammals. We have ide...
