Multiple scattering theory based on a cluster model is used to simulate full-hemispherical X-ray photoelectron diffraction measure ments in order to verify how state of the art multiple scattering simulations are able to reproduce the experiment. This approach applied to the Cu(111) surface for two different photoelectron kinetic energies. Differences and similarities between single and multip ...

We study in detail the strong-field QED process of non-linear Compton scattering in short intense plane wave laser pulses of circular polarization. Our main focus is placed on how the spectrum of the back-scattered laser light depends on the shape and duration of the initial short intense pulse. Although this pulse shape dependence is very complicated and highly non-linear, and has never been a...

The first order polarization dependent electron multiple scattering theory of Toptygin has been evaluated for realistic experimental conditions. The result is a prediction of essentially no beam depolarization. Recent experiments are discussed, and calculations are made to illustrate the influence of multiple scattering on Mott double scattering asymmetries. (Submitted to Phys. Rev.) * Supporte...

Conventionally, a film of TiO2 particles of ~300 nm size is employed in DSCs as the back reflector film to enhance the light harvesting. In this study, two electrolytes with different transparencies, iodide-based and cobalt-based electrolytes, were used to investigate the transparency effect of electrolytes on light back-scattering from back scattering layer and also to study its effect on the ...

We apply the strong πNN form factor, which emerges from the Skyrme model, in the two-nucleon system using a one-boson-exchange (OBE) model for the nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction. Deuteron properties and phase parameters of NN scattering are reproduced well. In contrast to the form factor of monopole shape that is traditionally used in OBE models, the Skyrme form factor leaves low momentum tra...

Future e+e− colliders will likely have the option of operating in γγ or eγ collision modes [1]. These modes are reached by Compton scattering laser light off one or more of the incoming fermion beams, and then colliding the resulting high energy photons with the remaining fermion beam or with each other. There is a large potential for eγ and γγ collisions to elucidate possible physics beyond th...

The perspects of utilizing the strangeness-production reaction γd → K + Λn for the determination of the Λn low-energy scattering parameters are investigated. The spin observables that need to be measured in order to isolate the Λn singlet (1 S0) and triplet (3 S1) states are identified. Possible kinematical regions where the extraction of the Λn scattering lengths might be feasible are discussed.

Bragg X-ray scattering intensities are defined as scattering by the thermodynamic average electroncharge density. Purely elastic, kinematic X-ray scattering by a target in thermal equilibrium is always larger than Bragg scattering. At low temperatures, the elastic scattering becomes Bragg scattering. For large molecules, such as a crystal, at ordinary temperatures the elastic and Bragg scatteri...

We use multiple scattering theory to evaluate the Q 2 dependence of the forward-backward asymmetry, A z , of the missing momentum distribution in quasielstic A(e, e ′ p) scattering, which is expected to be affected by color transparency. The novel features of our analysis are a consistent treatment of the structure of the ejectile state formed after absorption of the virtual photon by the struc...

using qcd factorization for the hadronic matrix elements, we show that existing data, inparticular the branching ratios br ( b →j/ψk) and br ( b →j/ψπ), can be accounted for in this approach.we analyze the decay b j /k( ) within the framework of qcd factorization. the calculation of therelevant hard-scattering kernels for twist-2 and twist-3 is completed. we calculate this decay in a special...
