It was previously reported that the hypernodulating soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.) mutants, derived from the cultivar Williams, had higher root concentration of isoflavonoid compounds (daidzein, genistein, and coumestrol) than did Williams at 9 to 12 days after inoculation with Bradyrhizobium japonicum. These compounds are known inducers of nod genes in B. japonicum and may be involved in sub...

The effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal fungi on nitrogen concentration of berseem clover were examined in contaminated soil with cadmium. Examined factors included: levels of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inoculation (Glomus mosseae) (With and without inoculation), and different levels of soil contamination by cadmium (0, 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 mg.kg-1). The results showed that the effects of cadmi...

Faced with the contrasting results of inoculation and co-inoculation in bean crop, an experiment was carried out pots, objective evaluating performance plant treatments inoculated or co-inoculated Rhizobium tropici Azospirillum brasilense, via seeds, without chemical treatment fungicide insecticide, combined 4 top-dressing nitrogen doses (0, 30, 60, 120 kg ha-1), a ‘Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo d...

Inoculation experiments were carried out in pot culture to determine the effects of VA fungi on the growth of Poa bulbosa. In this experiment, four treatments  were  used: 1. Strile soil without  inoculation,  2. Strile soil plus inoculum, 3. Natural soil plus inoculum, and 4. Natural soil without inoculation. Inoculum was prepared from a suspension of mycorrhizal  roots of  Poa  plants (Root c...

The effects of mycorrhizal inoculation and increasing soil P levels on the expression of total proteins and peroxidase activity on passion fruit roots were evaluated. The experimental design was entirely at random, with four treatments of inoculation (a--control; b--Gigaspora albida; c--Scutellospora heterogama; d--mixture of G. albida, G. margarita, S. heterogama, and Glomus clarum) x three le...

a comparative study was conducted to find a reliable and simple method for evaluation of resistance of sugar beet genotypes to rhizoctonia root and crown rot. for this, 12 sugar beet genotypes were used in greenhouse, field and in vitro experiments. the field experiment was performed in micro plots (1×1×2 meter) using randomized complete block design with 4 replications. prior to planting, the ...

Inoculation of corn (Zea mays) seeds with Azospirillum brasilense strain Cd or Sp 7 significantly enhanced (30 to 50% over controls) the uptake of NO(3), K, and H(2)PO(4) into 3- to 4-day- and 2-week-old root segments. No gross changes in root morphology were observed; altered cell arrangement in the outer four or five layers of the cortex was seen in photomicrographs of cross sections of inocu...

the present study is based on the investigation of a soil hyphomyces, paecilomyces lilacinus, an opportunistic bio-control agent, in controlling root-knot nematode meloidogyne javanica on tomato in greenhouse conditions. p. lilacinus, effectively promoted the growth of plants inoculated with m. javanica by suppressing its pathogenesis as root galling by the nematode and egg mass production was ...

Pterotylenchus cecidogenus did not inhibit germination of Desmodium ovalifolium but did reduce survival of seedlings and root and stem growth. Stem gall formation was associated with nematode population densities which were positively correlated with plant age at time of inoculation. Nematode population densities increased 100 times in 52 days following inoculation.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS The oomycete Aphanomyces euteiches causes up to 80 % crop loss in pea (Pisum sativum). Aphanomyces euteiches invades the root system leading to a complete arrest of root growth and ultimately to plant death. To date, disease control measures are limited to crop rotation and no resistant pea lines are available. The present study aims to get a deeper understanding of the earl...
