In this paper we construct a deformation quantization of the algebra of polynomials of an arbitrary (regular and non regular) coadjoint orbit of a compact semisimple Lie group. The deformed algebra is given as a quotient of the enveloping algebra by a suitable ideal.
In this paper, we give two constructions of weakly distance-regular digraphs of girth 2, and prove that certain quotient digraph of a commutative weakly distancetransitive digraph of girth 2 is a distance-transitive graph. As an application of the result, we not only give some constructions of weakly distance-regular digraphs which are not weakly distance-transitive, but determine a special cla...
Quasi-nearness biframes provide an asymmetric setting for the study of nearness; in [1] a completion (called a quasi-completion) was constructed for such structures and in [2] completeness was characterized in terms of the convergence of regular Cauchy bifilters. In this talk, questions of functoriality for this quasi-completion are considered and one sees that having enough regular Cauchy bifi...
In this paper, the notion of fuzzy n-polygroups (Fn -polygroups) is introduced and some related properties are investigated. In this regards, the concepts of normal F-subpolygroups and homomorphisms of Fn-polygroups are adopted. Also, the quotient of Fn-polygroups by defining regular relations are studied. Finally, the classical isomorphism theorems of groups are generalized to Fn-polygroups p...
We consider efficient Bayesian network structure learning (BNSL) based on scores using branch and bound. Thus far, as a BNSL score, the Bayesian Dirichlet equivalent uniform (BDeu) has been used most often, but it is recently proved that the BDeu does not choose the simplest model even when the likelihood is maximized whereas Jeffreys’ prior and MDL satisfy such regularity. Although the BDeu ha...
We study representations of Banach algebras on reflexive Banach spaces. Algebras which admit such representations which are bounded below seem to be a good generalisation of Arens regular Banach algebras; this class includes dual Banach algebras as defined by Runde, but also all group algebras, and all discrete (weakly cancellative) semigroup algebras. Such algebras also behave in a similar way...
Let K be a complete discrete valuation field with ring of integers OK and algebraically closed residue field k of characteristic p > 0. Let X/K be a smooth proper geometrically connected curve of genus g > 0, withX(K) 6= ∅ if g = 1. Assume thatX/K does not have good reduction, and that it obtains good reduction over a Galois extension L/K of degree p. Let Y/OL be the smooth model of XL/L. Let H...
A right ideal (left ideal, two-sided ideal) is a non-empty language L over an alphabet Σ such that L = LΣ∗ (L = Σ∗L, L = Σ∗LΣ∗). Let k = 3 for right ideals, 4 for left ideals and 5 for two-sided ideals. We show that there exist sequences (Ln | n > k) of right, left, and two-sided regular ideals, where Ln has quotient complexity (state complexity) n, such that Ln is most complex in its class und...
We study when certain properties of Banach algebras are stable under ultrapower constructions. In particular, we consider when every ultrapower of A is Arens regular, and give some evidence that this is so if and only if A is isomorphic to a closed subalgebra of operators on a super-reflexive Banach space. We show that such ideas are closely related to whether one can sensibly define an ultrapo...
Cannibalism as a topic of interest, both general and anthropological, has seen a revival of concern in the last seven years or so. Primarily responsible for this revival is the controversial stance taken by William Arens in his book, The ManEating Myth: Anthropology and Anthropophagy (1979). Following the publication of this work has been a deluge of articles and books, popular and specialized,...
