The pharmacokinetics of celecoxib, a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, was characterized in beagle dogs. Celecoxib is extensively metabolized by dogs to a hydroxymethyl metabolite with subsequent oxidization to the carboxylic acid analog. There are at least two populations of dogs, distinguished by their capacity to eliminate celecoxib from plasma at either a fast or a slow rate after i.v. administra...

Integrating flexible job-shop scheduling problem (FJSP) with preventive maintenance (PM) is pondered in this paper. Minimizing the makespan for scheduling part and minimizing the system unavailability for maintenance part are simultaneously under consideration. For doing it, the assignment of n jobs on m machines in production side and executing the PM actions at appropriate time intervals in m...

This paper presents main ideas and design details of a performance analysis tool – G-PM and a grid application monitoring system – OCM-G for applications running on the Grid which are under development within the EU CrossGrid project. Besides of the operation of G-PM’s components, we overview its internal interfaces. G-PM enables not only standard measurements, but also comprises application-sp...

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are besides particulate matter (PM), especially for diesel engines, the most relevant emission components. Against this background and the fact that passenger car emission legislation is permanently becoming stricter, there is still a growing interest in minimizing these pollutants. Beside the highly nonlinear behavior of engines also the tradeoff between PM and NOx is a c...

Although phosphoramide mustard (PM) is generally recognized as being the most genotoxic metabolite of cyclophosphamide (CP), the contribution of acrolein to the cytogenetic toxicity of CP is unclear. Besides covalently binding to DNA, acrolein can inactivate critical proteins necessary for replicative DNA synthesis, RNA transcription, cell membrane integrity, and metabolism of xenobiotic and en...

We rewrite the 1+1 Dirac equation in light cone coordinates in two significant forms, and solve them exactly using the classical calculus of finite differences. The complex form yields “Feynman’s Checkerboard”—a weighted sum over lattice paths. The rational, real form can also be interpreted in terms of bit-strings. Submitted to Physics Letters A. The varieties W equivalent to a given variety V are characterized in a purely categorical way. In fact they are described as the models of those Lawvere theories which are Morita equivalent to the Lawvere theory of V which therefore are characterized first. Along this way the conceptual meanings of the n–th matrix power construction of a variety and McKenzie’s σ– modification of classes of alge...

We solve the Dirac equation in one space dimension for the case of a linear, Lorentz-scalar potential. This extends earlier work of Bhalerao and Ram [Am. J. Phys. 69 (7), 817-818 (2001)] by eliminating unnecessary constraints. The spectrum is shown to match smoothly to the nonrelativistic spectrum in a weak-coupling limit. 3.65.Pm, 3.65.Ge Typeset using REVTEX 1

We use a generalized scheme of supersymmetric quantum mechanics to obtain the energy spectrum and wave function for Dirac equation in (1+1)-dimensional spacetime coupled to a static scalar field. PACS: 03.65.Pm, 11.30.Pb e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected] 1

We calculate the Green function for the Dirac equation describing a spin 1/2 particle in the presence of a potential which is a sum of the Coulomb potential VC = −A1/r and a Lorentz scalar Vs = −A2/r. The bound state spectrum is obtained. PACS numbers:03.65.Pm,03.65.Ge ⋆ e-mail:[email protected]
