In this paper it is shown that the product of categories and the product of functors may be extended from the structural to the phenomenological domains. For the phenomenological domains the products of functors applies both to functors and autofunctors. Examples of such products representing feasible physical and informational processes are given in the case of the generation of a phenomenolog...
Concerning the Phenomenological Methods of Husserl and Heidegger and Their Application in Psychology
It is fairly well recognized that Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) and Martin Heidegger (18891976) were the two giants of phenomenological philosophy during the 20 century. The beginning of the movement took place, of course, with Husserl’s publication of his Logical Investigations, and Heidegger was his student who likewise first achieved worldwide fame in the twenties and thirties of the last centu...
One loop contributions to the Higgs boson masses and mixings from the chargino sector consisting of the chargino, the W, and the charged Higgs boson (χ −W − H) exchanges and including the effects of large CP violating phases are computed. It is found that the chargino sector makes a large contribution to the mixings of the CP even and the CP odd Higgs sectors through the induced one loop effect...
The relationship between psychology and phenomenology is not one that is easily traceable (for a discussion on the difficulties of this see, e.g., Graumann 1991). One of the reasons for this opaque matter is that neither psychology nor phenomenology can be defined as one subject area. Both have developed over time with different persons representing varying approaches and others yet again furth...
Three decay mechanisms are derived systematically from the QCD Lagrangian using the field correlator method. Resulting operators contain no arbitrary parameters and depend only on characteristics of field correlators known from lattice and analytic calculations. When compared to existing phenomenological models, parameters are in good agreement with the corresponding fitted values.
This paper proposes that adopting a ‘phenomenological stance’ enables a distinctive kind of empathy, which is required in order to understand forms of experience that occur in psychiatric illness and elsewhere. For the most part, we interpret other people’s experiences against the backdrop of a shared world. Hence our attempts to appreciate interpersonal differences do not call into question a ...
INTRODUCTION Although syndromes that cause voice tremor have singular characteristics, the differential diagnosis of these diseases is a challenge because of the overlap of the existing signs and symptoms. OBJECTIVE To develop a task-specific protocol to assess voice tremor by means of nasofibrolaryngoscopy and to identify those tasks that can distinguish between essential and dystonic tremor...
Any viable theory of modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND) as modified gravity is likely to require fields in addition to the usual tensor field of General Relativity. For such theories the MOND phenomenology emerges as an effective fifth force probably associated with a scalar field. Here I consider the constraints imposed upon such theories by solar system phenomenology, primarily by the absence...
A phenomenological model for the dissipation of scalar fluctuations due to the straining by the fluid motion is proposed in this Brief Communication. An explicit equation is obtained for the time evolution of the probability distribution function of a coarse-grained scalar concentration. The model relies on a self-convolution process. We first present this model in the Batchelor regime and then...
Freedom Penultimate draft. Please cite only final version in The Routledge Companion to Phenomenology. Human freedom was Jean-Paul Sartre's central philosophical preoccupation throughout his career. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that the cornerstone of his moral and political thought, Being and Nothingness, contains an extensive and subtle account of the metaphysical freedom that he consi...
