In Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs), wireless mobile devices are designed to work in co-operative manner. These devices are connected via wireless link to communicate with each other. The node mobility, channel collision and abnormal channel conditions are the reasons for the occurrence of data transmission failure in MANET. Even though several routing schemes are available to handle these probl...

One of the most important problems in reliable multicast communication is reducing generated redundant NAKs to avoid NAK implosion. A number of NAK suppression mechanisms which try to resolve this technical problem have been proposed thus far. In wireless multicast which includes mobile hosts with wireless access channel, packet losses occur because of not only low quality of wireless communica...

Nowadays networks require flexible dynamic group communication with the internet. When we develop these systems on multicast communication framework, various types of security threat occurs .As a result construction of secure group communication that protects users from intrusion and eavesdropping are very important. In this paper, we propose an efficient key distribution method for a secure gr...

This paper proposes a scalable and reliable multicast communication service based on active networking for mobile hosts in cellular environments. This service uses resources ooered by active nodes in order to overcome problems in mobile multicast communication such as: high error-bit rates over wireless links, losses due to handoos, mobile host location, and NAK implosion. Simulations were carr...

Many appealing multicast services such as on-demand TV, teleconference, online games and etc. can benefit from high available bandwidth in multi-radio multi-channel wireless mesh networks. When multiple simultaneous transmissions use a similar channel to transmit data packets, network performance degrades to a large extant. Designing a good multicast tree to route data packets could enhance the...

The optimization of multicast communication for regular interconnection networks (INs) has been the subject of many studies in the literature. Extensions, however, the analysis of INs with arbitrary topology and background traffic poses a great challenge. In this context, a novel heuristic algorithm for multicast communication is proposed for arbitrary INs with finite capacity and bursty backgr...

This paper addresses the problem of one-to-many, or multicast, communication in wormhole-routed, n-dimensional torus networks. The proposed methods are designed for systems that support intermediate reception, which permits multi-destination messages to be pipelined through several nodes, depositing a copy at each node. A key issue in the design of such systems is the routing function, which mu...

We investigate reliable multicast communication over satellite networks. We compare a scenario where receivers can use a feedback channel to signal loss to a scenario where no feedback channel is available. We show that the introduction of a feedback channel is the key to allow for bandwidth-eecient, robust, and fully reliable multicast communication via satellite.

Many IP multicast based applications, such as PayTV, Multiplayer games, require controlling the group memberships of senders and receivers. One common solution is to encrypt the data with a session key shared with all authorized senders/receivers. To efficiently update the session key in the event of member removal, many rooted-tree based group key distribution schemes have been proposed. Howev...

Recent advances in multicasting present new opportunities for improving communication performance for clusters of workstations. Realizing collective communication over multicast primitives can achieve higher performance than over unicast primitives. However, implementing collective communication using multicast primitives presents new issues and challenges. Group management, which may result in...
