An efficient copper-catalyzed method for N-arylation of amines has been developed with part-per-million catalyst loadings at room temperature under air. Reactions of substituted (E)-1-(2-halophenyl)alkanone oximes with aliphatic amines or aromatic amines provided the N-arylation products in good to excellent yields.
Urea, the white gold: The efficient synthesis of tertiary and secondary amines is achieved by heterogeneous gold-catalyzed direct amination of stoichiometric alcohols with urea in good to excellent yields. Via a hydrogen autotransfer pathway, the reactions of primary alcohols with urea give tertiary amines exclusively, while secondary alcohols selectively afford secondary amines.
Trace amines, which include b-phenylethylamine (PEA), tryptamine (T), phenylethanolamine (PEOH), tyramines (TAs), octopamines (OAs), and synephrine (SYN) [some authors include N, N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in this list], are amines related structurally to, but present in the brain at much lower concentrations than, the classical neurotransmitter amines – dopamine (DA), noradrenaline (NA), and 5...
Biogenic amines (BA) are nitrogenous compounds that possess biological activity. The source of production is the microbial decarboxylation of amino acids. This compounds are found in various types of cheese. The aim of this work was to evaluate the BA content of some traditional cheeses in West Azerbaijan province Iran. For this purpose, 70 samples of Koopeh, 10 samples of Lighvan and 5 samples...
The lateral giant (LG)-mediated escape behavior of the crayfish habituates readily on repetitive sensory stimulation. Recent studies suggested that the biogenic amines serotonin and octopamine modulate the time course of recovery and/or re-depression of the LG response after habituation. However, little is known of how serotonin and octopamine effect LG habituation and what second-messenger cas...
sulphuric acid adsorbed on silica gel is a practical and useful catalyst for acetylation of varius alcohols, phenols and amines.
Aromatic amines are mammary carcinogens in rodents and exposure to aromatic amines may be associated with increased risk of breast cancer in women. Peroxidases present in milk can oxidize aromatic amines to reactive electrophiles which bind to DNA and induce mutations. Hydrogen peroxide, required for peroxidase-dependent oxidations, is supplied by milk xanthine oxidase and by the respiratory bu...
The first iron-catalyzed guanylation of amines is reported. Commercially available Fe(OAc)2 acts as an excellent catalyst for the addition of amines to carbodiimides. The reaction is broadly applicable to a variety of primary, secondary, and heterocyclic amines, and tolerates a wide range of functionalities allowing the easy preparation of a large family of guanidines. The low price and low tox...
C,N-coupling reactions of aryl chlorides and aryl amines catalyzed by a nickel catalyst are reported. 17 new amines are synthesized in yields of 57-99%. 2,6-Dichloro substituted imines can be selectively aminated. Both mono- and di-aminated products are obtained. Different substrates and amines are tested to look into the influence of electronic effects and steric hindrance to the reaction. An ...
The rhodium-catalyzed regioselective amination of tertiary allylic trichloroacetimidates with unactivated aromatic amines is a direct and efficient approach to the preparation of α,α-disubstituted allylic aryl amines in good yield and with excellent regioselectivity. This method is applicable to a variety of unactivated primary and secondary amines and allows for the preparation of reverse pren...
