Ten species of Gynnidomorpha Turner, 1916 occur in China. Gynnidomorpha curviphalla, sp. nov., is described, and G datetis (Diakonoff, 1984) is recorded from China for the first time. Images of adults and genitalia are provided, along with a key to all known Chinese species based on the male genitalia. A map showing the geographic distribution of the species is also provided.
turner syndrome is one of the best known chromosome anomalies in human being, by an approximate incidence of 1/2500 female at birth. the cause is a chromosomal aberration, mainly with the karyotype 45, x. ninety six patients aged 6 to 26 years with short stature were studied for chromosomal anomalies. out of these 82 were phenotypically female and 14 phenotypically male. twenty seven showed abn...
Competition between males and their sperm over access to females and their eggs has resulted in manifold ways by which males try to secure paternity, ranging from physically guarding the female after mating to reducing her receptivity or her attractiveness to subsequent males by transferring manipulative substances or by mechanically sealing the female reproductive tract with a copulatory plug....

In contrast to male genitalia that typically exhibit patterns of rapid and divergent evolution among internally fertilizing animals, female genitalia have been less well studied and are generally thought to evolve slowly among closely-related species. As a result, few cases of male-female genital coevolution have been documented. In Drosophila, female copulatory structures have been claimed to ...
A new genus and species, Pseudobasidissus barclayi Trýzna & Baňař gen. nov. et sp. nov. (Anthribidae: Anthribinae: Platyrhinini), from Madagascar is described. Male and female genitalia are studied and illustrated. Colour photographs of the holotype and genitalia of both sexes are provided. Comparison is made with the similar genus Basidissus Fairmaire.
XX maleness is a rare syndrome with a frequency of 1 in 20,000-25,000 males. XX males exist in different clinical categories with ambiguous genitalia or partially to fully mature male genitalia, in combination with complete or incomplete masculinization. In this study, we report a case of SRY-negative XX male with complete masculinization but infertility. The patient had fully mature male genit...
I argue that several unusual aspects of spider sexual biology make them extremely promising subjects for future research on sperm competition and cryptic female choice, and outline promising lines for future research. The important traits include: double, bilaterally symmetrical genitalia (allowing the use of the same animal as experimental and control and thus providing unusually complete cont...
