In the analysis of a scalar time series, which lies on an m-dimensional object, a great number of techniques will start by embedding such a time series in a d-dimensional space, with d>m. Therefore there is a coordinate transformation phi(s) from the original phase space to the embedded one. The embedding space depends on the observable s(t). In theory, the main results reached are valid regard...

The main result in this note is that if X is a simple loop in the boundary of a compact, irreducible, orientable 3-manifold M and [X] ¥= 1 G trx(M), one can represent the centralizer of [X] in irx(M) by a Seifert fibred submanifold of M. Introduction. The main result in this note is a partial answer to a question of Jaco [2]. Jaco has shown in [2] that the centralizer of a nontrivial element in...

In this paper we study generalized symmetric Berwald spaces. We show that if a Berwald space $(M,F)$ admits a parallel $s-$structure then it is locally symmetric. For a complete Berwald space which admits a parallel s-structure we show that if the flag curvature of $(M,F)$ is everywhere nonzero, then $F$ is Riemannian.

ion • Very successful in (non-probabilistic) model checking − essential for verification of large/infinite-state systems • Construct abstract model A of concrete model M − details not relevant to some property of interest removed − e.g. partition of state space based on a set of predicates • Non-probabilistic case: existential abstraction − conservative: existence of path in M implies existence...

We investigate collineation groups of a finite projective plane of odd order n fixing an oval and having two orbits on it, one of which is assumed to be primitive. The situation in which the group fixes a point off the oval is considered. We prove that it occurs in a Desarguesian plane if and only if (n + 1)/2 is an odd prime, the group lying in the normalizer of a Singer cycle of PGL(2, n) in ...

A 7-manifold with G2 holonomy can be constructed as a R 3 bundle over a quaternionic space. We consider a quaternionic base space which is singular and its metric depends on three parameters, where one of them corresponds to an interpolation between S and CP or its non-compact analogs. This 4-d Einstein space has four isometries and the fixed point set of a generic Killing vector is discussed. ...

Let M be an compact orientable 3 manifold whose boundary ∂M consists of a single torus. If a meridian and longitude in this torus are chosen, then isotopy classes of smoothly embedded circles in ∂M that do not bound disks correspond bijectively with elements of QP = Q ∪ {1/0} , regarded as slopes of these curves. We show in this paper that the set of slopes coming from boundary curves of incomp...

The Stephani universe is an inhomogeneous alternative to ΛCDM. We show that the exotic fluid driving exact solution of Einstein’s equations unusual form k-essence linear in “velocity”. Much as can be embedded into (a section of) flat 5-d Minkowski space-time, we obtains through dimensional reduction a strongly coupled non-linear “electrodynamics” that, empty universe, corresponds space filling ...

There are many embedded platforms and open source software applications available for those interested in deploying wireless access points and firewalls for an ISP or any network. It’s not possible to cover all the hardware and software in the space avail...

Planning optimal paths for large numbers of robots is computationally expensive. In this thesis, we present a new framework for multirobot path planning called subdimensional expansion, which initially plans for each robot individually, and then coordinates motion among the robots as needed. More specifically, subdimensional expansion initially creates a one-dimensional search space embedded in...
