This work is devoted to study the existence of solutions to equations of the p-Laplacian type in unbounded domains. We prove the existence of at least one solution, and under further assumptions, the existence of in nitely many solutions. We apply the mountain pass theorem in weighted Sobolev spaces.

This paper studies the existence of multiple solutions of the second-order difference boundary value problem Δ2u n − 1 V ′ u n 0, n ∈ Z 1, T , u 0 0 u T 1 . By applying Morse theory, critical groups, and the mountain pass theorem, we prove that the previous equation has at least three nontrivial solutions when the problem is resonant at the eigenvalue λk k ≥ 2 of linear difference problem Δ2u n...

in this study, the quaternary deformation and tectonic activity of saeedabad-chai drainage basin, are assessed using geomorphic approach. this drainage basin is located in northern slope of sahand mountain. north tabriz fault (ntf), is passing from the saeedabad-chai basin. variation in the morphology of mountain front provied the basis for geomorphic assessment of tectonic activity. therefore,...

alteration was ohserved along minor subsidiary faults in the northwest and northeast parts of Iron Range Mountain. The main Iron Range deposit consists of the segment of the ault containing the richest iron mineralization and underlies the northern half of the ridge which makes up Iron Range Mountain. This area extends northward onto the Grassy Mountain sheet (82FB). The area of m...

The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and associated co-seismic landslide was the most recent expression of the rapid deformation and erosion occurring in the eastern Tibetan Plateau. The erosion associated with co-seismic landslides balances the long-term tectonic uplift in the topographic evolution of the region; however, the quantitative relationship between earthquakes, uplift, and erosion is still ...

A 26-year-old Korean male started to climb Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan (3776 m above sea lever [ASL]). He began coughing at the seventh station of the mountain (2700 m ASL) but continued to climb. When he reached the top of the mountain, he felt dyspnea, chest pain and headache. Even after descending the mountain, these symptoms did not improve. On arriving back at the seventh stati...

There are countless high mountains in Tibet, and ancient Tibetans believed that gods resided on every one of them. The worship of mountain gods was one of the most important forms of nature worship among ancient Tibetans; it was fundamental to their entire belief system. Each mountain god possessed his own territory and was in charge of particular affairs. Around each god sprang up myths, legen...

About 12 miles to the northeast of Carrizozo lies the “ghost town” of White Oaks. This once thriving mining community rests in a small valley surrounded by three wrinkled and rounded mountain peaks: the remains of a ancient cluster of laccoliths (see attached Figure 1). To the northwest lies Lone Mountain with its associated peak, Baxter Mountain, while to the southeast lies Patos Mountain and ...
