In this paper, a tri–neuron network model with time delay is investigated. By using the Bendixson’s criterion for high– dimensional ordinary differential equations and global Hopf bifurcation theory for functional differential equations, sufficient conditions for existence of periodic solutions when the time delay is sufficiently large are established. Keywords—Delay, global Hopf bifurcation, n...

In this paper, a delayed Nicholson,s blowflies model with a linear harvesting term is investigated. Regarding the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcation will occur when the delay crosses a critical value. Numerical simulations supporting the theoretical findings are carried out. Keywords—Nicholson,s blowflies model; Stability; Hopf bifurcation; Delay.

In this paper we propose a necessary condition for the existence of chaos in delay differential equations of fractional order. To explain the proposed theory, we discuss fractional order Liu system and financial system involving delay. Keywords—Caputo derivative, delay, stability, chaos.

This paper focuses on the characterization of delay effects on the asymptotic stability of some continuoustime delay systems encountered in modeling the posttransplantation dynamics of the immune response to chronic myelogenous leukemia. More explicitly, we shall discuss the stability of the crossing boundaries of the corresponding linearized models in the delay-parameter space. Weak, and stron...

This paper proposes a delay-dependent leader-following consensus condition of multi-agent systems with both communication delay and probabilistic self-delay. The proposed methods employ a suitable piecewise Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and the average dwell time approach. New consensus criterion for the systems are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be easily ...

The potential benefit from introducing trajectory based operations into the NAS is estimated in this paper. Delay predictions of a stochastic and a deterministic queuing model, which represent high and low levels of trajectory uncertainty, are compared. It is found that delay savings are on the order of 35% in the average case, Delay predictions from the various models are found to be strongly ...

Habitat destruction threatens the viability of many populations, but its full consequences can take considerable time to unfold. Much of the discourse surrounding extinction debts—the number of species that persist transiently following habitat loss, despite being headed for extinction—frames ultimate population crashes as the means of settling the debt. However, slow population decline also op...

This paper proposes a model in which house prices are determined by housing affordability in the short run, while being determined by acquisition costs in the long run. Housing affordability is, in turn, determined by nominal income and nominal mortgage payments. The model explains the recent housing market run-up by lower housing repayment, decreasing nominal interest rates, and a large inflow...
