We propose an effective approach for creating robust nonreciprocity of high-order sidebands, including the first-, second- and third-order at microwave frequencies. This relies on magnon Kerr nonlinearity in a cavity magnonics system composed two cavities one yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere. By manipulating driving power applied YIG frequency detuning between mode field, can be strengthened, t...

We mainly investigate the quantum measurement of Kerr nonlinearity in driven-dissipative system. Without dissipation, precision parameter $\chi$ scales as "super-Heisenberg scaling" $1/N^2$ with $N$ being total average number particles (photons) due to nonlinear generator. Here, we find that $1/N^{3/2}$ can also be obtained by choosing a proper interrogation time. In steady state, only achieved...

The kinetic inductance of charge carriers in disordered superconductors provides a broadband low-loss source nonlinear electromagnetic response. This work investigates TiN nanowires as an alternative to Josephson junctions for applications involving elevated temperatures, higher frequencies, and strong magnetic fields. An extreme nanowire geometry microwave resonators leads current-density conc...

The consistent theory of formation of pulsed squeezed states as a result of self-action of ultrashort light pulse in the medium with relaxation Kerr nonlinearity has been developed. A simple method to form the ultrashort light pulse with sub-Poissonian photon statistics is analyzed too.

The existence of a type of soliton in periodic Kerr media constructed as a superposition of noninteracting gap solitons of different kinds (bright, dark, and periodic) is first demonstrated. The periodic modulation of the nonlinearity is used to suppress the cross-phase modulation between component solitons to allow the superimposed beam to propagate for long distances.

We discuss a proposed experiment on guiding of a high-repetition rate, 20 GW, CO2 laser beam in a gas-filled hollow glass waveguide. Extended interaction of the 3ps pulses with a gas Kerr medium will be used for measurements of nonlinearity at 10 um, and supercontinuum generation followed by pulse compression. Feasibility of 3-5 keV X-ray production via HHG is presented.
