In a prospective randomized trial comparing efficacy of double over single intrauterine insemination (IUI), 160 couples with unexplained infertility underwent controlled ovarian hyperstimulation and IUI. The pregnancy rates were similar and statistically not different between groups, suggesting that double IUI added no advantage over single IUI.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the role of ultrasound guidance in intrauterine insemination (IUI). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective study was conducted. The data was collected from the records of 197 couples with unexplained infertility who underwent IUI with a total of 267 IUI cycles in the in vitro fertilization center of our hospital between January 2009 and December 2010. RESULTS Of the ...
background: objective: to evaluate the effect of unilateral tubal blockage diagnosed by hsg on cumulative pregnancy rate (cpr) of the stimulated iui cycles. materials and methods: a cross-sectional analysis was performed between october 2006 and october 2009 in an academic reproductive endocrinology and infertility center. two groups of patients undergoing stimulated iui cycles were compare...
Background: Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a cost-effective, non-invasive and its success depends on the various factors. The factors associated with of IUI literature least available in Indian context. Objectives were to analyze outcome patients undergoing homologous terms pregnancy rates (clinical pregnancy) predictors for outcomes. Methods: This prospective observational study among 200 c...
Background The overall final outcome of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) is still more often a failure than a success. Assessing perifollicular blood flow (PFBF) is one technique to predict and possibly improve this outcome. The aim was to provide a structured review of studies concerning PFBF and its prognostic value in patients undergoing ART, including IUI (intrauterine insemination)...
Background: Common treatment for infertile couples is the use of controlled ovulation hyperstimulation (COH) with intrauterine inseminations (IUI). IUI is used in cases such as ovulatory dysfunction, cervical factor infertility, male subfertility, and unexplained infertility. In this study, we evaluated the relationship between IUI outcome and special causes of infertility. Methods: This was a...
Abstract The Intolerance of Uncertainty Inventory (IUI) is a two-part inventory assessing the general unacceptability uncertainty in terms generalized maladaptive beliefs (IUI-A) and specific individuals’ reactions to uncertainty, such as avoidance, doubt, overestimation threat, worry, control seeking reassurance (IUI-B). Previous research has examined factor structure both parts with mixed res...
Background Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a primary, simple and effective method of infertility treatment. The aim of this study was to determine the success rate of IUI and some related male and female factors. MaterialsAndMethods This quasi - experimental study was done on 500 infertile couples from 2006 to 2008. Either clomiphene or human menopausal gonadotropin (HMG) alone or clomiphene...
OBJECTIVES The objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist in improving clinical pregnancy rate in gonadotropin-stimulated intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles in patients of unexplained infertility. STUDY DESIGN This was a prospective, randomized case-controlled study. SETTINGS The study was conducted in the infertility clinic of...
OBJECTIVE To assess the effects of semen characteristics on the success of intrauterine insemination (IUI). DESIGN A retrospective study. SETTINGS The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tokushima University Hospital, Japan. PATIENTS Between 2004 and 2008, 1,177 IUI cycles in 283 couples were studied. INTERVENTION IUI cycles were preceded with ovarian stimulation. MAIN OUTCOME ME...
