reasearches about ‘marriage’ in iranian epic literature has always been limited to shahnameh. in most of these researches, some rare but important motifs have been ignored and not been argued at all. in addition to shahnameh, the writer of this article has studied heroic poems and some prose texts. he has chosen eight samples of the marriage custom in these texts and has analyzed them.
