INTRODUCTION The newly discovered (1995) hepatitis G virus (HGV) is an RNA virus from the Flaviviridae family with 85% genomic homology to GB virus C (GBV-C). We studied the prevalence of HGV infection among a cohort of 398 renal transplant recipients (RTR), all of whom had previously received blood transfusions, been grafted between August 1984 and December 1991, and been treated by cyclospori...
The use of heavy goods vehicles (HGV) has grown locally and globally. In this regard, every road user faces a high accident risk is susceptible to traffic-related injuries deaths. There substantial focus on law enforcement prevent overloading, speeding, illegal substance among drivers. Nonetheless, evidence about the complex causes HGV accidents still scarce. Thus, paper aims outline literature...
In most sub-Saharan countries screening of blood-transmitted infections includes mainly HIV, HBV, HCV and syphilis. Many viruses such as Hepatitis G (HGV) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) which also carry a risk of transmission by blood transfusion raise the question of the extent of screening for these pathogens. This work aims to evaluate the prevalence of HGV and EBV in first-time blood donors i...
BACKGROUND Hepatitis G virus (HGV) is a hepatotrope virus with unknown importance. The genome of the virus has been detected in patients with acute or chronic non-A-E hepatitis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. The aim of this study was to determine the association between hepatitis G and unknown chronic hepatitis. METHODS This case-control study was performed in Ebne-Sina military ho...
patients and methods five hundred and sixteen serum samples of the patients undergoing hemodialysis and kidney transplantation from various cities of khuzestan province were collected. anti-hepatitis g e2 antibodies were investigated by elisa method. rnas were extracted from serums and hepatitis g rna was detected by rt-pcr. results of the 516 samples, 38 (7.36%) specimens were positive for ant...
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between muscle power output at different external resistances and performance of functional tasks. The authors hypothesized that power at 40% skeletal muscle 1 repetition maximum (1RM), in which contraction velocity is high, would explain more of the variability in tasks such as level walking than would peak power or 1RM stren...
The prevalence of hepatitis G virus (HGV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection was determined by reverse transcription-PCR in 777 individuals with and without risk factors for viral transmission via blood. From our results we conclude that transmission of HGV and that of HCV are favored by similar risk factors.
Using PCR and genomic sequencing, we confirmed the presence of and homology between hepatitis G virus (HGV) (also called GB virus C) RNA in six serum samples and that in two saliva samples obtained from 34 patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infections. Thus, HGV may be found outside the circulatory system.
The recently discovered hepatitis G virus (HGV) or GB virus C (GBV-C) is widely distributed in human populations, and homologues such as HGV/GBV-CCPZ and GBV-A are found in a variety of different primate species. Both epidemiological and phylogenetic analyses support the hypothesis that GB viruses coevolved with their primate hosts, although their degree of sequence similarity appears incompati...
