Three new species of the Oriental caliscelid planthopper genus Symplanella Fennah, S. hainanensis sp. n., S. recurvata sp. n. and S. zhongtua sp. n., are described and illustrated from South China. A checklist and a key to species of genus Symplanella are provided.

Two new micropterous genera and three species of micropterous Mezirinae are described and illustrated. Although of similar habitual appearance as the Oriental genus Hutanicoris Heiss 1993, the two new genera are distinguished at once by the unique structures of their metathoracic evaporatoria.

The internal reproductive organs of Cosmoclopius nigroannulatus males and females are described, illustrated and measured. No significant difference was registered among immature and reproductive structures of males and their aspect was also similar. However, in females noteworthy differences both in size and aspect were found.
