A. Nouri,

In this paper the changes in the heat capacity of cooling towers has been investigated as a result of injecting combustion products of boilers. In the tower, the air is re-heated through mixing with hot flue gas after passing through the heat exchangers. As a result of this process, the draft of the cooling tower is increased. The additional produced draft depends on the ambient temperature and...

The heat capacities of a rhyolite and an andesite glass and liquid have been investigated from relativeenthalpy measurements made between 400 and 1800 K. For the glass phases, the experimental data agree with empirical models of calculation of the heat capacity. For the liquid phases, the agreement is less good owing to strong interactions between alkali metals and aluminum, which are not curre...

We present a thermodynamic treatment of superfluid helium in the presence of an applied heat current, Q, which produces a counterflow velocity $ W . We show that the heat capacity can be expressed in terms of the dependence of the superfluid density on $ W . Near Tl, both mean field theory and renormalization group theory give a divergent heat capacity with an exponent of 0.5 at a depressed tra...

The temperature dependence of the heat of hydration of natrolite was studied by isothermal adsorption calorimetry from 412 to 472 K. The heat capacity of hydration implied by these results is about 5 times greater than the calorimetric heat capacity of reaction, suggesting atypical behavior across this solid solution.
