The lacewing family Nevrorthidae is one of the most mysterious groups of Neuroptera. Here we describe two new species of the genus Nipponeurorthus Nakahara, 1958 from China, namely Nipponeurorthus damingshanicus sp. nov. and Nipponeurorthus furcatus sp. nov. A key to the species of Nipponeurorthus is provided. Phylogenetic and biogeographic considerations on Nipponeurorthus are summarized.
The lance lacewing genus Thyridosmylus Krüger (Osmylidae: Spilosmylinae) is found in Madagascar and Southeast Asia. Two new Malagasy species are described herein, Thyridosmylus fuscomarginatus Xu, Wang & Winterton, sp. n., and Thyridosmylus longiprocessus Xu, Wang & Winterton, sp. n. A key to differentiate the Malagasy species of Thyridosmylus is provided.
A new specimen of the species Litholingia rhora Ren, 2002, from Middle-Upper Jurassic deposit Daohugou, is used to redescribe and precise its diagnosis. We also propose a series wing venation drawings highlighting main characteristics all species. Finally, we summarize current diversity lacewing family Grammolingiidae.
The functional response study of the ten most common arthropod predators of cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa zea) eggs was conducted in the laboratory. Crab spider (Misumenops spp.) and assassin bug (Zelus renardii) did not consume any bollworm eggs under laboratory conditions and the scymnus lady beetle (Scymnus loewii) consumed very few (avg. 0.5 eggs per beetle) bollworm eggs in a 24-hour period...
The widespread application of synthetic chemicals leads to the unintended negative impact non-target organisms both directly or indirectly, as these can infiltrate new environments, disrupting established ecological niches. Laboratory experiments explored effects sublethal doses Cs-O-Arg third instar grubs Chrysoperla zastrowi sillemi when fed with treated and untreated larvae diamondback moth ...
