The aim of this study was to Comparative position of laboratory works in biology textbooks in Iran and United Kingdom. Therefore  were selected as sample the biology text book in  tenth-grade of both countries, and were analyzed based on the assessment criteria of laboratory works, then was determined the absolute frequency, relative frequency and Percent of relative frequency of each...

BACKGROUND Multiple sclerosis is a progressive neurological disease that results in a high incident of gait disturbance. Exploring the frequency content of the ground reaction forces generated during walking may provide additional insights to gait in patients with multiple sclerosis that could lead to specific tools for differential diagnosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate differ...

although there is enough knowledge indicating on the influence of frequency content of input motion on the deformation demand of structures, state-of-the-practice seismic studies use the intensity measures such as peak ground acceleration (pga) which are not frequency dependent. the v max/a max ratio of strong ground motions can be used in seismic hazard studies as the representative of frequen...

Dielectric properties of mashed potatoes relevant to microwave and radio-frequency (RF) pasteurization and sterilization processes were measured over 1 to 1800 MHz and 20 °C to 120 °C. Effects of moisture content (81.6% to 87.8%, wb) and salt content (0.8% to 2.8%, wb) were investigated. Dielectric loss factors and constants decreased with frequency. Dielectric loss factors increased with tempe...

We extract the frequency content of a noisy signal by use of Discrete Fourier Transform. Our analysis overcomes the limitations imposed by incommensurate lattices. After computing the deterministic component, we show the relevance of the method in removing spurious autocorrelations from the signal residuals. Results are presented for a temperature time series.

The generalized entropies of Rényi inspire new measures for estimating signal information and complexity in the time–frequency plane. When applied to a time–frequency representation (TFR) from Cohen’s class or the affine class, the Rényi entropies conform closely to the notion of complexity that we use when visually inspecting time–frequency images. These measures possess several additional int...

This paper presents a novel network intrusion detection method that searches for frequency patterns within the time series created by network traffic signals. The new strategy is aimed for, but not limited to, detecting DOS and Probe attacks. The detection method is based on the observation that such kind of attacks are most likely manipulated by scripted code, which often result in periodicity...

An elegant study by Mironov et al. used experimental data from paced activation in pig hearts to formulate practical resolution limits in optical mapping of cardiac excitation (4). In the examined conditions, little to no content was found >130Hz in the temporal domain and <3mm in space, thereby justifying the use of aggressive filters to improve signal-to-noise ratio with minimal overall disto...

content explosion. Users can tag resources to describe and organize them. Tag clouds provide rough impression of relative importance of each tag within overall cloud in order to facilitate browsing among numerous tags and resources. The goal of our paper is to enrich visualization of tag clouds. A font distribution algorithm has been proposed to calculate a novel metric based on frequency and c...

Ocular microtremor (OMT) is a high frequency tremor of the eyes present during fixation and probably related to brainstem activity (Coakley, D. (1983). Minute eye movement and brain stem function. CRC Press, FL.). Published observations on the frequency of OMT have varied widely. Ocular microtremor was recorded in 105 normal healthy subjects using the Piezoelectric strain gauge technique. The d...
