In train control systems, more and more (electro-)mechanical devices are substituted by software based devices. To sustain the high level safety standards for these embedded systems, we propose the integration of fault tree analysis and formal methods. This combines two important safety analysis methods from the involved domains of engineering and software development. Our approach proposes to ...

By using the theory of artificial intelligence fault diagnosis of hydraulic excavator of several basic problems are discussed in this paper, the artificial intelligence neural network model is established for the fault diagnosis of hydraulic system; the combined application of fault diagnosis analysis (FTA) and artificial neural network is evaluated. In view of the hydraulic excavator failure s...

Fault tree analysis (FTA) is one of the most popular failure techniques that reveal potential pathways leading to systems or components failure. It has been widely employed in numerous sectors understand how a system fails and improved. However, conventional FTA criticized due series inherent shortcomings state arts. Accordingly, scholars, engineers, practitioners made their attempts improve by...

Fault tree analysis (FTA), as one of the powerful tools in reliability engineering, has been widely used to enhance system quality attributes. In most fault tree analyses, precise values are adopted to represent the probabilities of occurrence of those events. Due to the lack of sufficient data or imprecision of existing data at the early stage of product design, it is often difficult to accura...

and Conclusions This paper is concerned with the analysis of Event Trees where the branch point event causes are defined using Fault Tree structures. Attention is focussed on the non-trivial situation where there are dependencies amongst the branch point events. The dependencies are due to component failure events featuring in one or more of the fault trees. In these situations it is shown that...

The paper presents an approach to safety analysis with the use of Fault Trees. The aim is to provide for more precise analysis of timing dependencies between the events of a tree. A Fault Tree is first represented formally and then converted into a time Petri net. The reachability analysis of the net provides the answer if the hazard can actually occur. The approach is illustrated by an example.

Background and aims: Attention to safety of process plants adjacent residential area, especially in the big cities is extremely importance from the perspective of the safety engineering and risk management. This study was carried out whit the aims of identification of hazard points of explosion in Town Border Station (TBS) and qualitative and quantitative analysis of their occurrence causes and...
