We give an action for the massless spinning particle in pseudoclassical mechanics by using grassmann variables. The constructed action is invariant under τ -reparametrizations, local SUSY and O(N) transformations. After quantization, for the special case N = 2, we get an action which describes the spin 0, 1 and topological sectors of the massless DKP theory.

Dragon is a word oriented stream cipher submitted to the ECRYPT project, it operates on key sizes of 128 and 256 bits. The original idea of the design is to use a nonlinear feedback shift register (NLFSR) and a linear part (counter), combined by a filter function to generate a new state of the NLFSR and produce the keystream. The internal state of the cipher is 1088 bits, i.e., any kinds of TMD...

My IRIS system contains a set of forumulas that consist of actions that the Drama Manager can perform in certain sequences to create suspense. I plan on evaluating these formula experimentally. I hope to show that these formula are sufficient to create suspense, in that they are comparable to a human author's mental formula for creating suspense and better than a logically consistent baseline. ...

Particles are the major vector for the transfer of carbon from the upper ocean to the deep sea. However, little is known about their abundance, composition and role at depths greater than 2000 m. We present the first number-size spectrum of bathy- and abyssopelagic particles to a depth of 5500 m based on surveys performed with a custom-made holographic microscope. The particle spectrum was unus...

In the recent article ‘Who was James Lind, and what exactly did he achieve’, Iain Milne refers to John Woodall’s, the Surgeon General of the East India Company, book The Surgions Mate published in 1617. Woodall recommended ensuring that ‘There is a good quantity of lemon juice sent in each ship’. Bowen et al. in their book ‘Monsoon Traders: The maritime world of the East India Company’ recount ...

Regular exercise improves physical function and quality of life and reduces fatigue in cancer survivors; these health benefits could be due to the anti-inflammatory effects of exercise. In this study we examined the effects of a whole-body exercise programme and dragon boat paddling on the production of reactive oxygen species (ROMs), antioxidant capacity (BAP) and the circulating levels of sev...

The physical properties that govern the waterborne transmission of Toxoplasma gondii oocysts from land to sea were evaluated and compared to the properties of carboxylated microspheres, which could serve as surrogates for T. gondii oocysts in transport and water treatment studies. The electrophoretic mobilities of T. gondii oocysts, lightly carboxylated Dragon Green microspheres, and heavily ca...

We studied the molecular composition of muscle mitochondria to evaluate whether the contents of cytochromes or adenine nucleotide translocase (ANT) or phospholipid acyl compositions reflect differences in mitochondrial oxidative capacities. We isolated mitochondria from three vertebrates of similar size and preferred temperature, the rat (Rattus norvegicus), the cane toad (Bufo marinus) and the...
