the dedicated satellite mission goce will sense various small mass variations along its path around the earth. here we study the effect of the earth’s topography and atmosphere on goce data. the effects depend on the magnitude of topographic height, and they will therefore vary by region. as the effect of the atmosphere and topography must be removed from the total gravity anomaly prior to geoi...

We study connections between the satisfiability problem for logics on data trees and Branching Vector Addition Systems (BVAS). We consider a natural temporal logic of “repeating values” (LRV) featuring an operator which tests whether a data value in the current node is repeated in some descendant node. On the one hand, we show that the satisfiability of a restricted version of LRV on ranked dat...

Pattern-based signal/noise separation is a common technique to suppress multiples. It can be formulated in the t x domain using non-stationary Prediction Error Filters (PEF). One can obtain a kinematically correct model of the multiples by downward continuation. The CMP gather and the corresponding multiple estimate are characterized by a space varying PEF. After applying a simple separation te...

Common-azimuth migration (CAM) is an attractive solution for 3-D prestack imaging. It reduces the full 5-D phase-shift operator to 4-D through the stationary-phase approximation, lowering the computational cost. However, this assumption yields constraints in the downward-continuation process that can limit accuracy. Those errors are estimated in this paper by comparison to other wave-equation m...

Early diagnosis and management of strabismus is needed to avoid complications such as amblyopia. In this retrospective cohort study we reviewed the profile and surgical outcome of vertical strabismus patients attending a clinic in Yazd city in the Islamic Republic of Iran. From the medical files of 265 patients, 19.2% were found to have pure vertical deviation and 80.8% had combined horizontal ...

Thirty-one patients presented for surgical correction of unilateral hypotropia of the globe and blepharoptosis. The hypotropia and pseudoptosis were corrected by Knapp procedures. The Bell's phenomenon was thereby improved, allowing safe correction of the true ptosis, generally by an anterior levator resection whose magnitude depended on measured levator function.

Abstract. In this paper, we revisit the reverse-time imaging procedure. We discuss an inverse scattering transform derived from reverse-time migration (RTM), and establish its relation with generalized Radon transform inversion. In the process, the explicit evaluation of the so-called normal operator is avoided, at the cost of introducing other pseudodifferential operator factors. Using techniq...
