We present a family of mixed methods for linear elasticity, that yield exactly symmetric, but only weakly conforming, stress approximations. The method is presented in both two and three dimensions (on triangular and tetrahedral meshes). The method is efficiently implementable by hybridization. The degrees of freedom of the Lagrange multipliers, which approximate the displacements at the faces,...

Quality control is an important role in industry for maintain quality stability. Statistical process can quickly investigate the occurrence of unforeseen causes or shifts using charts. Mixed Exponentially Weighted Moving Average - Cumulative Sum (MEC) chart a tool used to monitor and evaluate whether production not. The MEC method combination (EWMA) (CUSUM) Combining two charts aims increase se...

Control charts based on time between events (TBE) data have been shown to be useful for monitoring production or failure processes where defect or failure occurrence can be recorded over time. One type of TBE chart is set up with probability control limits, e.g. the Cumulative Quantity Control (CQC) chart and its extension CQC-r chart, which monitors the quantity inspected until the occurrence ...

Shewhart, exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA), and cumulative sum (CUSUM) charts are famous statistical tools, to handle special causes and to bring the process back in statistical control. Shewhart charts are useful to detect large shifts, whereas EWMA and CUSUM are more sensitive for small to moderate shifts. In this study, we propose a new control chart, named mixed CUSUM-EWMA chart...

The control limits of an exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control chart should vary with time, approaching asymptotic limits as time increases. However, previous analytic analyses of EWMA charts consider only asymptotic control limits. In this article, the run length properties of EWMAs with time-varying control limits are approximated using nonhomogeneous Markov chains. Comparing t...

This research focuses on developing and implementing the Naïve Bayesian Classifier to GEAR courses at Rio Salado Community College. It demonstrates that this predictive model has good prediction accuracy of at-risk students. Predictive results across courses and cumulative gain charts show potential improvements to be made in students' academic success by focusing at high level risk students.

Control charts are widely used for process monitoring. They show whether the variation is due to common causes or whether some of the variation is due to special causes. To detect large shifts in the process, Shewhart-type control charts are preferred. Cumulative sum (CUSUM) and exponentially weightedmoving average (EWMA) control charts are generally used to detect small and moderate shifts. Sh...

Clusters of nosocomial infection often occur undetected, at substantial cost to the medical system and individual patients. We evaluated binary cumulative sum (CUSUM) and moving average (MA) control charts for automated detection of nosocomial clusters. We selected two outbreaks with genotyped strains and used resistance as inputs to the control charts. We identified design parameters for the C...

Control limits in traditional Multivariate Quality Control Charts (MQCC), such as Hotelling's T control chart, Multivariate Cumulative Sum (MCUSUM) and Multivariate Exponentially-Weighted Moving Average (MEWMA) control charts are based on multivariate normal assumption. This assumption is not usually satisfied, especially in real life applications. The purpose of a control chart based on suppor...
