We report dynamic alternation of the redox chemistry of the Fe/ Fe couple in magnetite during high temperature water−gas shift reaction in Cu codoped Mmodified ferrite catalysts. Various hematitic solid solutions of the type Fe2O3−MxOy−CuOx with M = Cr, Ce, Ni, Co, Mn, and Zn are synthesized using the industrially economical and environmentally friendly coprecipitation method. Interestingly, Cu...

We report the synthesis and characterization of several novel aminopyridine - L-amino acid derived Cu(II)-complexes. The ligands are prepared by a one-pot reductive alkylation of the L-amino acid scaffold and the respective aminopyridine Cu(II)-complexes were obtained by reaction with CuCl2 or Cu(acetato)2. All compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques, as well as ESI-MS. Two of ...

Copper-manganese oxide catalysts are prepared with an atomic ratio of Cu/Mn=2/1 using a coprecipitation procedure under air atmosphere. The time of aging, i.e., the time that precipitate remains in contact with the precipitating medium, has been varied from 0 (for unaged precursor) to 300 minutes and the effect of precipitate aging time in each atmosphere upon the structure and morphology of di...

OBJECTIVE To study the two metal catalysts Ag/Al2O3 and Cu/Al2O3 that interdict the transmission pathway for SARS and other respiratory infectious diseases. METHODS Two metal catalysts Ag/Al2O3 and Cu/Al2O3 were pressed into wafers. One hundred microL 10(6) TCID50/mL SARS-CoV, 100 microL 10(6) PFU/mL recombinant baculovirus expressing hamster's prion protein (haPrP) protein and roughly 10(6) ...

Copper and zinc were introduced into mesoporous siliceous matrices with the goal of obtaining model methanol synthesis catalysts with intense interaction between copper and the ZnO promoter. The preparation methods included various aqueous routes starting from acetate solutions (into MCM-48) and a route involving an organometallic step—thermolysis of a liquid heterocubane of Zn4O4 type ([CH3ZnO...

Mechanistic insight into the semihydrogenation of 1-butyne and 2-butyne on Cu nanoparticles supported on partially dehydroxylated silica (Cu/SiO2-700) was obtained using parahydrogen. Hydrogenation of 1-butyne over Cu/SiO2-700 yielded 1-butene with ≥97% selectivity. The surface modification of this catalyst with tricyclohexylphosphine (PCy3) increased the selectivity to 1-butene up to nearly 10...

bond-order conservation-morse potential (boc-mp) method is used to carry out the calculationon the co2+ h20 system. one of the best catalysts for methanol synthesis in catalytic reductionof co2 with h2o is cu/zno/a1203 whose surface is supported by with some amount of pd orga. reduction of co2 with h20 on cu will result in methanol formation; while on ni will lead tomethane formation. in the me...

A simple, inexpensive, and novel method was used to prepare electrocatalysts from Cu supported on titanium dioxide (Cu/TiO2). XRD, SEM, and TEM characterizations confirmed different loadings of Cu nanoparticles (NPs) on TiO2. Cyclic voltammetry tests indicated that Cu/TiO2 exhibited lower overpotential for CO2 reduction than that of Cu NPs. Moreover, 40 wt % Cu/TiO2 exhibited the highest farada...

Based on DFT calculations, we propose a TM@CN hybrid structure, in which the single-atom transition metal (TM = Pt, Pd, Co, Ni, Cu) is supported by graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN), as a promising high-performance OER catalyst. Our work reveals the importance of local TM coordination in catalysts for the OER, which would lead to a new class of low-cost, durable and efficient OER catalysts.

heteropoly acids (hpa) and their salts have advantages as catalysts which make them both economically and environmentally attractive, strong br?nsted acidity, exhibiting fast reversible multi-electron redox transformations under rather mild conditions, very high solubility in polar solvents, fairly high thermal stability in the solid states, and efficient oxidizing ability, so that they are imp...
