We report growth and characterization of heavily boron-doped 3C-SiC and 6H-SiC and Al-doped 3C-SiC. Both 3C-SiC:B and 6H-SiC:B reveal type-I superconductivity with a critical temperature Tc=1.5 K. On the other hand, Al-doped 3C-SiC (3C-SiC:Al) shows type-II superconductivity with Tc=1.4 K. Both SiC:Al and SiC:B exhibit zero resistivity and diamagnetic susceptibility below Tc with effective hole...

A yeast two-hybrid study was conducted to catalogue the protein-protein interactions of the Porcine teschovirus non-structural proteins. Five homodimer, three reciprocal heterodimer and four unidirectional heterodimer interactions were observed. While several interactions are similar to those described in previous studies using enteroviruses, such as homo- and heterodimeric interactions of the ...

Reaction of 5-phenyl tetrazole with ethyl chloroacetate to form ethyl (5-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl) acetate (1). Compound 1 react with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol yield 2-(5-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide (2). The condensation of (2) with various aldehydes yield the corresponding substituted N'-[-arylidene]-2-(5-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl) acetohydrazide (3a- j). Th...

BACKGROUND Coxsackieviruses are members of a group of viruses called the enteroviruses, which may cause respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms, erythema, meningoencephalitis, myocarditis, pericarditis, and myositis. Unilateral acute idiopathic maculopathy caused by coxsackievirus A16 has been associated with hand, foot, and mouth disease, but only a few reports describe retinitis associated ...

The foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) afflicts livestock in more than 80 countries, limiting food production and global trade. Production of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccines requires cytosolic expression of the FMDV 3C protease to cleave the P1 polyprotein into mature capsid proteins, but the FMDV 3C protease is toxic to host cells. To identify less-toxic isoforms of the FMDV 3C protease...

Enteroviruses have been reported to be a potential trigger of the development of type 1 diabetes by inducing b-cell autoantibodies and by directly destroying b-cells (1). Although the precise underlying mechanisms for enterovirusmediated development of diabetes remain unknown, the systematic review andmetaanalysis of observational molecular studies demonstrates a clinically significant associat...

Coxsackievirus is the most important cause of meningitis and encephalitis in infants; an infection is sometimes fatal or may lead to neurodevelopmental defects. Here, we show that coxsackievirus B4 (CVB4) induces an autophagy pathway for replication in rat primary neurons. Notably, calpain inhibitors reduce autophagosome formation. Conversely, the inhibition of the autophagy pathway with 3-meth...

We report the detection of CO (1 → 0) and CO (2 → 1) emission from the central regions (. 5–10 kpc) of the two powerful radio galaxies 3C 31 and 3C 264. Their individual CO emission exhibits a double-horned line profile that is characteristic of an inclined rotating disk with a central depression at the rising part of its rotation curve. The inferred disk or ring distributions of the molecular ...

Class 3 semaphorins (sema 3) are secreted guidance proteins. Sema 3A expressed by endothelial cells controls vascular morphogenesis through integrin inhibition. Sema 3C is required for normal cardiovascular patterning. Here we examined the potential role of sema 3C as regulator of endothelial cell function in vitro using mouse glomerular endothelial cells (MGEC). We determined that MGEC express...
