The first tetra-substituted non-fused chrysene, 3,6,9,12-tetrakis(4-tert-butylphenyl)chrysene with blue electroluminescence at 450 nm, and with a radiance of 500 cd m(-2), was synthesized by a two-step procedure: direct bromination of chrysene in trimethyl phosphate, followed by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of tetrabromochrysene and tert-butylphenylboronic acid .

In this work we present results about the deuterium isotope effect on the global kinetics of a Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction in batch conditions. A nonlinear dependence of the Induction Period upon the percentage of deuterated reactants was found. The isotopic effect on the bromination reaction of malonic acid was evaluated.

2-monobromomethyl 1,4-dihydropyridines is selectively synthesized by bromination of the parent compound by 1.1 equivalents of pyridinium bromide perbromide in dichloromethane/pyridine at -20 °c. the same reagent in dichloromethane at 0 °c produce the 2,6-bis(bromomethyl) 1,4-dihydropyridines.
