The Bluetooth technology is the convergence of Mobile Communication and Computing Applications. The Wireless Network era introduces the new generation appliances as an intelligent device, equipped with communication functionalities. Internet worms have become a challenging threat in Internet, in the mean way Bluetooth worm becomes a challenge for Bluetooth Wireless Personal Area Network. Even t...

In ubiquitous computing, activity-related data is typically gathered using customized sensing equipment that give physiological measurements. Unfortunately, such systems are often proprietary or expensive to obtain. Recently, the decrease in the prices of Bluetooth chips has made Bluetooth sensors a viable alternative. In previous research, various systems for gathering data from Bluetooth sens...

IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth, these two operating in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz frequency band are becoming more and more popular in the mobile computing world. The number of devices equipped with IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth is growing drastically. Result is the number of co-located devices, say within 10 meters, grown to a limit, so that it may causes interference issues in the 2.4 GHz radio frequency ...

This paper discusses how ad-hoc Personal Area Network (PAN) based on Bluetooth technology may connect to external networks. We assume that the Bluetooth network (piconet) is formed by the automatic SAPIFO procedure [4], that one or more piconet devices have access to external networks, and that IPv4 is used for external communication. Bluetooth have specified a PAN profile[2] for IP over Blueto...

UWB system that utilizes the unlicensed 3.1 – 10.6 GHz UWB band, as regulated in the United States by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Regulations. It is a trend that UWB and Bluetooth Technology will be combined together for developing a next-generation low-power, low-cost ad hoc networking solution that will expand Bluetooth technology’s current success. In this paper, we propose a...

The Bluetooth wireless technology realizes a low-cost shortrange wireless voiceand data-connection through radio propagation. Bluetooth also has a security architecture. In this paper, we focus on the key agreement protocol, which is the most critical part of this security architecture. Several security flaws have been identified within the Bluetooth protocols: an attacker can track users by mo...

This paper describes a student project examining mechanisms with which to attack Bluetooth-enabled devices. The paper briefly describes the protocol architecture of Bluetooth and the Java interface that programmers can use to connect to Bluetooth communication services. Several types of attacks are described, along with a detailed example of two attack tools, Bloover II and BT Info.

Bluetooth is a standard for wireless personal area networks. The current standard does not support roaming between different bluetooth networks. In this paper, we will introduce potential roaming techniques for data transfer scenarios using Bluetooth hardware devices and present a corresponding UML model.

Bluetooth is a radio technology operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM frequency band, that is emerging as a low-level and low-power wireless communication protocol used for wireless personal area networks (WPANs) where proximal devices can share information and resources. In this paper, we quantify the performance of the Bluetooth access control layer when the radio is operating in close proximity to a ...

Outdoor location-based services are now prevalent due to advances in mobile technology and GPS. Indoors, however, even coarse location remains unavailable. Bluetooth has been identified as a potential location technology that mobile consumer devices already support, easing deployment and maintenance. However, Bluetooth tracking systems to date have relied on the Bluetooth inquiry mode to consta...
