金めっき厚の異なるPEMWE用Tiセパレータに対して，模擬環境中での定電位分極試験により，耐食性および接触抵抗を評価した．ICP-MSによる溶出金属量の定量とSEMでの表面観察の結果，金めっき厚0.1μmでは，表面処理層の欠陥が起点となりTi成分が溶液中に溶出したと考えられた．一方で，金めっき厚0.3μm以上ではTi溶出が定量限界（1μg dm－3）未満であった．接触抵抗は未処理Tiでは分極により増大したが，金めっき（0.1μm）Tiは変化していなかった．このことは，微細な欠陥は溶出の起点となるが，接触抵抗の増大には直ちに影響しないことを示唆している．
