Essential oils (EOs) from plant extracts have been reported to have an antibacterial activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Several of the gram-positive bacteria are involved in ruminal biohydrogenation of fatty acids (FAs), thus suggesting that feeding EOs could lower biohydrogenation of FA because of a decrease in the number of bacteria involved in that process. As a resul...

This review provides an overview of existing literature on the effects of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation and abscisic acid (ABA) on physiological and biochemical aspects affecting grape berry (Vitis vinifera L.) growth, maturation and their quality for winemaking. The UV-B (280–315 nm) comprises only a small fraction of sunlight that reaches the Earth’s surface, but has enough energy to cause l...

This study examined the genetic diversity present in a population obtained by crossing two very distinctive varieties of wine grapes (142 progeny from a Riesling x Cabernet Sauvignon cross, including both parents, created at the University of California). The following list of morphological characters were evaluated and found to segregate in this population: cluster weight, cluster length,...

We analyze 2-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau vortices at critical coupling, and establish asymptotic formulas for the tangent vectors of the vortex moduli space using theorems of Taubes and Bradlow. We then compute the corresponding Berry curvature and holonomy in the large area limit.

This study presents the findings on qualitative indicators of seven varieties redcurrant (Ribes rubrum L.), five which are selected by Professor V.L. Symyrenko Department Horticulture NULES Ukraine. The largest average weight berries had 'Buzhanska' (0.58 g) and 'Polyana Holosiivska' (0.59 g). These also stand out among others in terms maximum berry weight. In certain years research, fruits wei...
