We use the quantum version of Chebyshev polynomials to explicitly construct recursive formulas for Kronecker cluster algebra with principal coefficients. As a byproduct, we obtain two bar-invariant positive ℤℙ-bases one being atomic basis.

The low-energy structures (LESs) of adatom clusters on a series of metal face-centered cubic (fcc) (110) surfaces are systematically studied by the genetic algorithm, and a simplified model based on the atomic interactions is developed to explain the LESs. Two different kinds of LES group mainly caused by the different next nearest-neighbor (NNN) adatom-adatom interaction are distinguished, alt...

Yttria-stabilized zirconia YSZ is modeled using a cluster expansion statistical thermodynamics method built upon a density-functional theory database. The reliability of cluster expansions in predicting atomic ordering is explored by comparing with the extensive experimental database. The cluster expansion of YSZ is utilized in lattice Monte Carlo simulations to compute the ordering of dopant a...

Salt-like cluster ions of the ([cation](n)[anion](n-1))(+) type are commonly composed of mono-atomic, inorganic components. Clusters containing organic ions are also known, with nitrogen-centred cations being particularly prominent. However, sulphur-centred analogues, such as organic sulphonium salts, represent a notable exception. Fast atom bombardment and liquid secondary ion mass spectrometr...

We have studied the behavior of magnetic coercivity H # , across the geometric percolation in MBE grown epitaxial Ni films. By increasing a Cu buffer layer thickness, the morphology of Ni films changes from a collection of finite clusters to a single infinite cluster, while all other structural parameters remain constant. H # drops rapidly near the geometric percolation threshold. Atomic Force ...

To investigate the effect of adsorbates on structural transitions in small palladium aggregates, we have performed molecular dynamics simulations of cluster “melting” in presence of atomic hydrogen. Intriguing questions are how the exposure to hydrogen modifies the metal-metal interaction, and whether hydrogen could lower the onset of melting. Various structural and caloric methods were used to...

In this paper, we propose a novel scheme, named as TCP-ABC, which replicates the server side TCP connections among multiple server nodes of a cluster. By guaranteeing atomic request delivery, and consensus on responses, this scheme provides the legacy server applications running on the server nodes with multiple active backups in a transparent fashion. By failing the connections over healthy un...

The growth of small tellurium clusters in helium and the influence of a metal impurity (dysprosium atoms) on the cluster size distribution are investigated in a double laser vaporization source. A model describing the role of the carrier gas as collision partner is presented, emphasizing the crucial influence of the gas pressure on cluster formation. Changes in cluster reactivity due to dyspros...

We present a novel method for investigating a nanometric cluster of water molecules, which includes the formation and manipulation of nanometric water, and the measurement of its mechanical properties. The atomic force microscope based on the quartz tuning-fork sensor is employed to form and manipulate the nanometric water, and the theoretical tool of amplitude-modulation atomic force microscop...
