Combinations of NiCoCrAlY APS and high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) bond coatings were deposited on alloy 247 disk substrates with yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) top to assess the benefit air plasma sprayed (APS) ‘flash’ coatings.
