The interaction between the ejecta from Supernova 1987A and surrounding material is producing steadily brightening radio and Xray emission. The new-born supernova remnant has been significantly decelerated by this interaction, while its morphology reflects the axisymmetric nature of the progenitor wind.

A comparative XMM-Newton archival data spectral study of the ultraluminous Xray source (ULX) M33 X-8 has been performed by using both the standard disk model and the newly developed slim disk models.
