Cell Tracking In article number 2207626, Jeff W.M. Bulte, Chao Wang, and Ali Shakeri-Zadeh review the occasional adverse effects encountered with magnetic labeling of cells for in vivo cell tracking using resonance imaging (MRI) particle imaging. Mesenchymal stem (MSCs) are abundant mannose residues on their membrane. Using mannose-sensitive chemical exchange saturation transfer MRI, MSCs is no...

A fuzzy restriction may be visualized as an elastic constraint on the values that may be assigned to a variable. In terms of such restrictions, the meaning of a proposition of the form "x is P," where x is the name of an object and P is a fuzzy set, may be expressed as a relational assignment equation of the form R(A(x)) = P, where A(x) is an implied attribute of x, R is a fuzzy restriction on ...

This paper presents a fuzzy system for reliability-based power distribution network planning. The proposed Mamdani type inference with subsequent application of the Bellman-Zadeh decision-making method is used to evaluate reliability line feeders as criteria Unplanned outages components, Energy Not Supplied (ENS) and age lines are input variables fuzzified using triangular functions. model was ...

A fuzzy aspect is introduced into L systems and some of its properties are investigated. The relationship between fuzzy L languages and the fuzzy languages generated by fuzzy grammar defined by Lee and Zadeh is elucidated. The concept of fuzzy entropy of a string is proposed as a measure of fuzziness of the latter. Some relationship between fuzzy L systems and the ordinary L systems is discussed.

An algorithm is presented that uses evolutionary programming to construct fuzzy membership functions that are used to extract Zadeh-Mamdani fuzzy rules from a constructive neural network. The algorithm has potential applications in fields such as data mining and knowledge-based decision support systems. Evaluation of the algorithm over two well known benchmark data sets shows that while the res...

The original idea of reasoning and control within fuzzy rule bases was proposed by Zadeh [1], and was called the Compositional Rule of Inference (CRI) and had the disadvantage of running directly in the k-dimensional input space (where k is the number of variables) while being able however to describe multi-dimensional membership function distributions of arbitrary shape. Its modified version, ...
