Integer convolution can be effected, as is well known, via certain number-theoretical transforms. One particular transform, which we call a discrete Galois transform (DGT), can be used efficiently for either cyclic or negacyclic integer convolution. The DGT has the feature that, if an appropriate prime p for the field GF(p) be specified, the allowed power-of-two signal lengths can be quite larg...

This paper qualitatively describes the deprivation under different coupling situations of two-dimensional indicators and then establishes the twodimensional coupling model on social deprivation, using the social welfare function approach and Foster-Greer-Thorbecke α P method. Finally, this paper applies the model to evaluate the social deprivation of 31 provinces in China under the coupling sta...

This paper applies the decomposition of the Foster-Greer-Thorbecke poverty index to the measurement of the individual vulnerability to poverty. I highlight that poverty risk can be expressed as a function of expected incidence, expected intensity and expected downward variability. An empirical illustration is provided using the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS) and the Survey on Household I...

Women face unique pathologies and challenges related to the female genital tract (FGT), including vaginal infections and gynecologic cancers. Vaginal infections faced by women include bacterial vaginosis (BV), vulvovaginal candidiasis (VC), and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Curcumin, a component of the dietary spice turmeric, has immense biological properties, including antioxidant, a...

While the prevalence of Human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection has stabilized globally, it continues to be the leading cause of death among women of reproductive age. The majority of new infections are transmitted heterosexually, and women have consistently been found to be more susceptible to HIV-1 infection during heterosexual intercourse compared to men. This emphasizes the need fo...

The floating gate technique (FGT) is a very sensitive method to measure very low level leakage currents in MOS capacitors. This indirect technique requires the precise knowledge of the capacitance of the structure under test. We have studied the impact of the capacitance model (classic or quantum) and of polysilicon gate depletion effect. We have shown that for 7.2 nm thin EEPROM tunnel oxides,...

We analyze shallow water wind waves in Currituck Sound, North Carolina and experimentally confirm, for the first time, the presence of soliton turbulence in ocean waves. Soliton turbulence is an exotic form of nonlinear wave motion where low frequency energy may also be viewed as a dense soliton gas, described theoretically by the soliton limit of the Korteweg-deVries equation, a completely int...

This paper presents a broadband optical packet generation method by multiplexing low- and high-frequency signals using bias tee. The cut-off frequency of the tee, fc is optimized in terms eye-opening ratio for trains with different guard times intervals. As result, optimal condition observed to be fGT < f1, should closer fGT. (where f1 high-pass low-frequency amplifier). We implemented tee base...

We report an error estimate of the multi-dimensional fast Gauss transform (FGT), which is much sharper than that previously reported in the literature. An application to the Karhunen–Loeve decomposition in the three-dimensional physical space is also presented that shows savings of three orders of magnitude in time and memory compared to a direct solver. 2006 Elsevier Inc. Many vision algorithms depend on the estimation of a probability density function from observations. Kernel density estimation techniques are quite general and powerful methods for this problem, but have a significant disadvantage in that they are computationally intensive. In this paper, we explore the use of kernel density estimation with the fast Gauss transform (FGT) for problems in vision....
