This phantom study was designed to compare the radiation dose in thoracic and abdomen-pelvic CT scans with and without use of tube current modulation (TCM). Effective dose (ED) and size-specific dose estimation (SSDE) were calculated with the absorbed doses measured at selective radiosensitive organs using a thermoluminescence dosimeter-100 (TLD-100). When compared to protocols without TCM, the...

In the current research, hydroxyapatite samples, synthesized by hydrothermal methods was studied from the perspective of thermoluminescence dosimetry. The results of the study were compared and studied with different aspects of dosimetry, including dose-response variations of synthesized samples, degree of its linearity, and the percentage of response fading, as well as the position of the main...

This study investigated the dosimetric properties of various electronic components extracted from a new generation mobile phone using optically stimulated luminescence and thermoluminescence. The studied resistors exhibit high linearity in the dose range of interest, signal repeatibility and reproducibility, along with a minimum detectable dose of 16 mGy after preheating.

introduction according to the international commission on radiological protection publication numbers 60 and 21, the environmental control standards should ensure human and other species protection to a desirable degree. since application of radiographic procedures in veterinary medicine has increased significantly, in this study, we aimed to evaluate the entrance skin dose to the animals (e.g....

Thermoluminescence characteristics of natural rhyolite have been studied. Dose response at a wide dose range 0.5–2000 Gy has determined. Minimum detectable and thermal fading rate are evaluated. Glow curve deconvolution is conducted after determining the best read-out conditions. The repeated initial rise (RIR) method used to detect overlapping peaks, glow procedure extract thermoluminescence p...

The paper reports on the optimization of a heater used in a Thermoluminescence glow curve apparatus. Two variants of the heater, planchet system and block system, are described. Both variants performed by a cheap material as graphite and designed following cryogenic principles, are very simple constructively, ensure minimum heat losses and require

SUMMARY Preilluminated spinach chloroplasts and Chlorella pyrenoidosa, when subjected to a quick temperature jump of about 15 °, emit light. This thermoluminescence is observed both in normal and 3(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-l,l.dimethylurea.treated samples, but is absent when hydroxylamine is added to either of these samples. These results are explained in terms of a oack reaction of System II of pho...
