The modified tanh method is one of most direct and effective algebraic method for obtaining exact solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations. The method can be applied to nonintegrable equations as well as to integrable ones. In this paper,we look for exact soliton solutions of the improved Eckhaus equation and the (2+1)-dimensional improved Eckhaus equation. 2000 Mathematics Subject...

This paper describes properties of the tanh function from the standpoint of its use in robust signal processing and statistical estimation. It has recently been shown that the construction of circuits that perform tanh is very natural in present integrated circuit technology. Therefore, this transform is likely to become widely used in circuits that perform computations on (noisy) input signals...

A direct approach with computerized symbolic computation is applied to construct a series of traveling wave solutions for nonlinear equations. Compared with most existing symbolic computation methods such as tanh method and Jacobi function method, the proposed method not only gives new and more general solutions, but also provides a guideline to classify the various types of the solution accord...

The position accuracy of the third mirror’s Z axis will directly affect measurement optical telescope, so it is necessary to improve accuracy. In order control performances Z-axis a large this paper proposes novel algorithm based on hyperbolic tangent function (tanh). proposed used replace traditional integral separated proportional-integral (IS-PI) controller which widely in industry servo sys...

In this paper, the sine-cosine, the standard tanh and the extended tanh methods has been used to obtain solutions of the KadomstevPetviashvili(KP) equation. New solitons solutions and periodic solutions are formally derived. The change of parameters, that will drastically change characteristics of the equation, is examined.

In this paper, we use the generalized tanh method to obtain exact solutions for a class of fifth-order nonlinear systems. A particular case is given by the integrable Mikhailov-Novikov-Wang system (MNW). Periodic and solitons solutions are formally derived. The Mathematica is used.

Information fusion at the matching score level is widely used, due to the simplicity in combining the scores generated by different matchers. Since the matching scores output by various modalities are diverse in numerical range, score normalization is needed first, to transform these scores into a common domain. Then score fusion is to be carried out on the normalized scores. In this paper, we ...

This paper obtains the soliton solution for the Calogero–Degasperis and the potential Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equations. The tanh–coth and the tan–cot methods are used to retrieve the solutions. Finally, the ansatz method is also used to integrate these equations with any arbitrary constant coefficients. Finally, a fewnumerical simulations are also given. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd.
