We focus on the analysis and design of two different sliding mode observers for dynamic Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems. A nonlinear system of this class is composed of multiple affine local linear models that are smoothly interpolated by weighting functions resulting from a fuzzy partitioning of the state space of a given nonlinear system subject to observation. The Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system...

In order to make more flexible database access the query language SQLf has been previously proposed. One of the SQLf features is the use of Fuzzy Quantifiers in Having Clause. For this kind of query, three evaluation mechanisms have been proposed: the Naïve, the Sugeno Integral Heuristics based and the Alfa-cut Derivation based. We present in this paper a formal performance study of these three...

In this paper a decision making support system dedicated to histopathology image recognition is considered. The proposed system supports the classification process of histopathology preparations through microscopy image information analysis, with respect to the degree of HER2/neu receptor overexpression. The system combines the output information of ensemble of classifiers – fuzzy decision tree...

This paper clarifies the connection between multiple criteria decision-making and decision under uncertainty in a qualitative setting relying on a finite value scale. While their mathematical formulations are very similar, the underlying assumptions differ and the latter problem turns out to be a special case of the former. Sugeno integrals are very general aggregation operations that can repre...

In this paper Hermite—Hadamard type inequalities for m-convex and (α,m)-convex functions for fuzzy integrals are given. Some examples are also given to illustrate the results.

We show that the Choquet integral is the unique linear interpolator between vertices of the [0, 1] hypercube, using the least possible number of vertices. Related results by Lovász and Singer are discussed, as well as other interpolations. We show that the Choquet integral for bi-capacities can be also casted into this framework. Lastly, we discuss the case of Sugeno integral.

As international corporate activities increase, their staffing involves more strategic concerns. However, foreign assignments have many differences, and dissatisfaction with the host country is a known cause of expatriate failure. From the point of view of an expatriate candidate, the decision of whether to take an expatriate assignment can be regarded as a FMCDM (fuzzy multiple criteria decisi...

The evaluation of quantified sentences is used for solving several problems. Most of the methods proposed are not satisfactory because they do not verify some intuitive properties. In this paper we propose an extension of both possibilistic and probabilistic methods, based on the Sugeno and the Choquet fuzzy integrals respectively, for the evaluation of type II sentences, the most general kind ...

Although, in literature various results can be found claiming that fuzzy controllers are universal approximators, recently it was shown [3, 4] that for Sugeno-controllers this property does not hold any longer if the number of the rules is bounded. Namely, it was shown that the set of Sugeno-controllers is nowhere dense in the space of continuous functions. In this paper a generalization of the...
