The double bond has an E configuration. The cyclo-hexa-none ring adopts a chair conformation. The conformation of the mol-ecule is stabilized by a weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

In the title mol-ecule, C(15)H(18)O(2)S, the dimethyl-cyclo-hexa-diene unit is slightly non-planar, having a folded conformation with the two double-bond planes forming a dihedral angle of 3.9 (6)°.
