Nowadays, the internet and social networks become more popular than ever. People in all ages use the internet and communicate by that. One of the most terrible events in our daily life is to disconnect from the internet and lose the connections. It may also influence on the economics; so the sustainability in this area is necessary. Internet service provider companies are the executors of selli...

The manner in which an experiment is conducted determines the inferences that can be made from the results of the analysis of the experiment. This paper emphasizes the critical need in pest-damage control (PDC) experiments for a detailed planning process (i.e., the design of experiments) by exampling improper designs that prohibit a researcher from making valid inferences about his hypotheses o...

This article presents a controlled experiment that compares the behavior of the testing techniques Statement Coverage and All Uses. The design of this experiment is typical for a factor with two alternatives. A total of 14 subjects carry out tests on a single program. The results indicate that there is enough statistical evidence to state that the cost of executing All Uses is higher than that ...

The author describes a case study of a usability test of an on-line engineering statistical handbook. The case study was conducted with two goals: to determine usability issues affecting the use of the handbook and to determine if a kiosk-based testing methodology would be feasible. The paper outlines the design of the experiment and describes the lessons learned, with respect to the design of ...

The development of circuit devices can involve both physical and computer simulation experiments. Here, we discuss statistical solutions for both design of the physical experiment and optimization for the calibration of the computer model. In both cases, we can view the problem as one of optimization, and we rely upon treed Gaussian processes to model the data and guide our design choices.
