We report on an observation of the Vela-like pulsar B1823−13 and its synchrotron nebula with the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The pulsar’s spectrum fits a power-law model with a photon index ΓPSR ≈ 2.4 for the plausible hydrogen column density nH = 1×1022 cm−2, corresponding to the luminosity LPSR ≈ 8×1031 ergs s−1 in the 0.5–8 keV band, at a distance of 4 kpc. The pulsar radiation likely include...

Evolutionary changes in shallow lake shorelines can significantly impact wetland biodiversity transformation. This paper aims to further elucidate the evolution process by investigating temporal and spatial characteristics rules governing shoreline evolution. Departing from traditional analyses of area length changes, this presents a comprehensive approach quantifying typical patterns using con...

A recently proposed and fundamentally different Cenozoic geology glacial history paradigm (new paradigm) is used to explain previously reported other anomalous Monongahela River drainage basin system evidence (observable on detailed topographic maps in the form of barbed tributaries, asymmetric tributary basins, large abandoned meander cutoffs, poorly explained transverse drainages drainages). ...

Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation based on the array of three-component electromagnetic vector-sensors is considered within a biquaternion framework. A relationship is established between the biquaternion covariance and the combination of both complex covariance and cross-product. By exploiting this relationship, the DOA estimates can finally be obtained by diagonalizing the biquaternion co...
